No, Sorry.... this is a st shed. Acres of bland plastic, a barge for a Nigerian Diplomat, not for anyone with a pulse. Where's my branch, this needs thrashing.
(/BASIL FAWLTY)

Whoever came up with this as a SOTW needs to hang their heads in shame. Go to the back of the class, detention after, and 1000000000 lines for being a dullard.

They'll suggest a Hyundai Matrix next, you see, they will....
Nigerian diplomats used Mercedes S-Classes, which also had an interior made of plastic.

A carbon copy of the Mercedes W-126 S-Class. It's bland, unoriginal but definitely more reliable. S-Class had far better interior imo.

The most relaxing car to drive. Ever.

In fact, when my wife drives my LS she turns back into a human being - surely there is no higher praise than that?

I don't have the 400 but I do own a first gen LS430.

Yes they are bland and unexciting, but name a luxo barge that isn't.

As someone has said the LS turns you into a human being. I just waft along without a care in the world, let everyone else stress themselves in their noisy tin boxes/crashing suspension.

I keep my 'real car' for the weekends and track days.

A used LS converted to LPG is a no brainer, luxury, quietness, reliability, with added smugness of 50-60 mpg equivalent.

First car with Xenons? Or first car they were standard on?

I have them on mine, and that's a 98-R... Were optional though.

Surely not? I had a 98 R Omega with Xenons.....

ETA 1991 - E32 7 series was the first.

A safety feature *not* introduced on the S Class? :O

That'd be a M-something-something Omega, right? The stupidly high-spec one?

^^ The Omega was an Elite - you are thinking of the MV6. Both had them, I think.

^ Their are several Chevy LS1 engined MX-5s on YouTube, so your idea is not that much of a stretch!

I love the LS'. To me, there's something ever so satisfying about having the luxury goodies for cheap.

It's certainly possible. Considering doing something similar to my Rover V8 powered TR7.

Dont think the BMW E32 7 series had xenons...i believe the first was the 750iL(E38) had them standard, was an option on the E39..did not become an option on the W140 S class till late in its life...but i could be wrong!
