No, Sorry.... this is a st shed. Acres of bland plastic, a barge for a Nigerian Diplomat, not for anyone with a pulse. Where's my branch, this needs thrashing.
(/BASIL FAWLTY)
Whoever came up with this as a SOTW needs to hang their heads in shame. Go to the back of the class, detention after, and 1000000000 lines for being a dullard.
They'll suggest a Hyundai Matrix next, you see, they will....
Nigerian diplomats used Mercedes S-Classes, which also had an interior made of plastic. No, Sorry.... this is a st shed. Acres of bland plastic, a barge for a Nigerian Diplomat, not for anyone with a pulse. Where's my branch, this needs thrashing.

Well, after getting to page 7 of this thread, I formerly announce the winner of not only the 'Best Shed of the week ever' but also the 'Best Value for money car in the world' is, the MK1 Lexus LS400 !
To every other car.... 'Come and have a go if think you're reliable enough'
HERE HERE....I vouch fo this To every other car.... 'Come and have a go if think you're reliable enough'
I don't have the 400 but I do own a first gen LS430.
Yes they are bland and unexciting, but name a luxo barge that isn't.
As someone has said the LS turns you into a human being. I just waft along without a care in the world, let everyone else stress themselves in their noisy tin boxes/crashing suspension.
I keep my 'real car' for the weekends and track days.
A used LS converted to LPG is a no brainer, luxury, quietness, reliability, with added smugness of 50-60 mpg equivalent.

I have a '99 model, facelift car, Xenon headlights (first in the UK?)
First car with Xenons? Or first car they were standard on?I have them on mine, and that's a 98-R... Were optional though.
ETA 1991 - E32 7 series was the first.

That'd be a M-something-something Omega, right? The stupidly high-spec one?

Dont think the BMW E32 7 series had xenons...i believe the first was the 750iL(E38) had them standard, was an option on the E39..did not become an option on the W140 S class till late in its life...but i could be wrong!
