Still waiting for any info on when a race suit has been useful on a trackday while piloting a normal, everyday road car.
If someone wants to wear one (more risk averse than you perhaps) what's the problem? Why do you care whether someone else wants to wear racewear on trackdays? It's not mandatory so everyone can make their own choice.Useful to use like overalls if working on the car between sessions in my experience.
My point is that no one where's a race suit in a car like a Focus for safety reasons. They where it because they think it's cool/they'r a fantasist/ both of the above.
The OP asked where to buy them, not whether he should be wearing them. If he wants to, good luck to him, it's his money.

I have a friend who would have found wearing a nomex suit useful whilst driving his road car on the road. The 30% burns he suffered (and I do mean suffered) after an accident probably would have been reduced or even prevented completely had been dressed up like an F1 driver...It might be rare nowadays, but cars do catch fire occasionally.

Fact is, you are far more likely to require this kind of gear on the road than on a trackday.
I managed to drive all the way to the Nurburgring and back again without seeing a single accident and yet 5 cars managed to crash on the circuit itself, pretty much all of them badly enough to be written off. All of them were road cars too, not 'prototypes'.Edited by juansolo on Thursday 6th January 17:00

As I've said, I can't find anything, anywhere about anyone on a track day in a normal volume road car being involved in accident where a race suit would have helped. Neither can anyone else.
Seriously, statistically you're best wearing your race suit to bed. It'll allow you to live the racing driver dream in private and most people killed from fire do so while they sleep.
Not to mention that this thread is whiling a dull evening away nicely.

I'd certainly avoid them at the hotel bar as well.
Money much better spent than hundreds of £ on nomex suit -

Sorry if I really offend you that much.Edited by CampDavid on Thursday 6th January 18:24
I don't offend easily. Being a fat bloke who occasionally chooses to wear a race suit. I certainly accept that this is a fashion mistake on my part. It's never ever going to look good. But I choose to do it because I like my flesh and should the worst happen, I'd like it to remain pale, plump and lovable rather than crusty, red and sore. No one in my position would chose to wear clothing like this for any other reason than for it's fire retardancy. However you seem to think I do it because it makes me 'look good' in some way... That annoys me and I'm bored at the moment so easily engaged in pointless banter.

The two camps that are chatting are either of the opinion that it's pointless and makes you look a dick or what you look like is irrelevant if that's what you want to do. Strayed pretty much from topic instantly.
It has potential to go on for some time. Welcome!
