...obviously if circuit racing isn't your thing, then this won't appeal. It is my thing though, and I'd jump at the chance to race one of these
But is a move into the circuit racing market the right way for a company like Caterham to go, do you think? They have a well established business selling road/trackday cars. Most race car manufacturers seem to aspire to a move in the opposite direction in order to grow and gain stability?

I think this could be a fairly cute move on Caterham's part. They already have a respected brand name, as do Lola. The export Market beckons. They can sell a race car all over the world (middle and far east anyone?) at this sort of money without having to look at bullst roadcar regs... I hope they clean up!

+ VAT I believe...Plus the SR8, which is not lot more, has got something a lot closer to a purpose built race engine, than a lump from a Mondeo. And before anybody starts, the Duratec is a *very* good engine; light, strong, highly tunable, etc; but in a £72k car?

Keep the well reasoned arguments coming.

What was the red car in the background of the Vid? That looked very interesting.
One of these -> http://www.youtube.com/user/track4fun#p/u/10/rGeS2...Now that's what they should have built.

Put simply, if you think it's expensive, you're not in the market for one.

If I'd got the thick end of £70k to spend on a non-road legal toy, I'd be buying a Radical thanks very much. At least they can be made road legal if you so chose...
