I see numerous illegally spaced plates daily. Do the police actively stop/fine drivers or do they just turn a 'blind eye' as long as the font is ok ??

I just bought:

H8 BFD

for the van. Only people who sail will get that one, so probably doesn't count as "really good". If you get it, it is, but most probably won't tongue out

It's happening more and more nowadays. Poor old MRL 10N from Brighton was stopped from using his plate recently... Biggest area that they're clamping down is Essex, London and Wales from what I'm being told...
