How do you mean tempting? Shirly you snapped it up there and then!
I only thought about it after I'd left. But I'll be handing over the new one later this week and it will be there, waiting and needing a new home. I may just take a pocket full of notes along...

My daily snotter back in January, LSD + 2.5 M20 with snow and no TC period = Lots of sideways moments hehe

Still been reasonably cheap despite the head rebuild, though the fuel costs when commuting have been astronomical eek but that should change with the new job. biggrin

There are some great snotters in this thread. Really like the two Alfas.

Mine is rather put to shame, but here it is....

1996 Nissan Micra 998 Auto.

One elderly lady owner, 38,000 miles, 12 months MOT and fully serviced for £275.

Still on its original exhaust, but there is rot in the sills and front crossmember.

Surprisingly pleasant to drive. Great in traffic, happy at an indicated 80mph. 45mpg. Even has power steering.

This is my third K11 Micra. They make fantastic snotters.

You did very well there, I presume you don't have many takeaways with a delivery service in your area?

Reckon a snotter like some of these is the way to go for me in my current 'unemployed' status. Just how difficult is it to find a good 'un though?

Very in my experience although there does seem to be a lack of good snotters near me.

It seems hard to find good examples. Some cracking examples of what can be bought have been shown on this thread though.

Here it is my £400 hunk of junk

It only failed its last MOT of 13 points most of which knackered brake lines a dead light bulbs, all fixed now

Runs on winter tyres all year round as i'm yet to get stuck due to too much sun

Gets hugely abused and has more offroad miles on it then 95% of urban assault vehicles

Great value aren't they!

I've seen some where a 728i is cheaper than the equivalent 528i, same model year and roughly same mileage! scratchchin

Not pictured is the old hydraulic hose and jubilee clips used to repair the power steering cooler, towing strap wrapped around the back axle and cable tied to back bumper for when it gets stuck, missing bottom grill due to ramming snow drifts, missing front foglight (but wires can still be seen), bonnet can only be opened with a screwdriver, the only key has had the plastic chewed by the dog, the fuel tank leaks if filled over half full and the fuel pump looses suction if it drops below 1/8 full.

Its a true snotter

£750 has got me a nice enough snotter but I'll probably at around £850 by the time I've sorted a couple of things out (oil change, battery, etc ) not all of which I was aware of at the time of purchase.

On the upside, if I sort out the cosmetics I should be able to sell it on for c. £1100 when I'm done

It's a bit of a luck thing with me, I've never chosen any of them they just sort of came along. There's a few potentials in the 'sheds' section in the classifieds, this one looks ideal (but sold):

My snotter...

£2.5k of Seat Arosa, bought it March last year as a one owner lady car on 34k (she cried when i drove it away)

Since then its now on 54k, i've spent some money on refreshing the brakes, had the cambelt done, fully serviced...and spanked it everywhere.

So the missus drives her new Ibiza SC i bought her, and i use this to visit customers and abuse (i love it)

Its meeting with a kerb in the snow

Getting rid of the Xmas tree

Long may she continue smile

£2500 does not a snotter make, tbh, even if you treat it like one
