Dangerous comparison - the odds are both watches will tell you the time pretty accurately and reliably.

a £3.99 digital from a garage actually does the same job...
Actually the £3.99 digital will be more accurate and do a better job telling time.

One could argue that cars are really ultimately only about getting from point A to point B and watches are just for telling time. But here's another big problem with trying to justify the 300k Singer vs. a really nice old 30k 911 by using a watch comparison: you can just open up the rear lid on either car and see they're powered by the same basic engine, the basic car structure is pretty much the same, and its driving characteristics are basically the same. Can you open up a 500k watch and see that it has the same basic movement, made initially by the the same manufacturer as the 500 watch? Does it have the same basic structure? Are its working characteristics basically the same?

On another note, I think like most people on here, I'm still thinking a lot about this car. It really inspires my imagination.

It would be an interesting exercise to figure out a rough comparison of how much all these bits and pieces would cost to apply to a 964 donor car, with the owner doing as much work as possible themselves. What would it cost to do a virtually identical car to a Singer if you are minus the bank account draining costs of shop hours and their profit margin?
What do you mean by 'virtually identical' and 'as much as possible themselves'? For example, a back-dated, seam welded and re-enforced shell might be £25k, a 350bhp 3.8l engine around the same again. Wheels/tyres £5k, Ohlins is £2k corner, 6 speed 'box £7k, interior with Recaro CSs and leather £5k+, and that's before you started to copy the unique bodywork (in carbonfibre), paint it, buy a rust-free donor or put it together.

Please Mr Harris go and drive that Alfa immediately. A nice long 30+ minute video would be grand. Cheers

This type of video would be a much better use of my license fee than those fat blokes wrecking everything

What a fantastic car! The attention to detail is mind blowing, and the quality of the work is incredible......now all I need to do is figure out how to come up with $300,000 or so dollars! Ideas anyone?

To the more aged and cynical of us, it hard to emotionally connect to a reinvention of a classic. This vid has surpassed all expectations. Totally authentic people, exquisite quality car. Singer 911, I couldn't want a car more.
Top work Chris.

Sorry to say but those prices are ex-factory I imagine? Wouldn't there be import duty and Vat to be added to register the car in the UK, unless you supplied Singer with UK car and waited 1 year while they transformed it, then just said it had been on holiday at customs, I suppose.
I get the feeling that the are all bespoke cars and you have to supply the, with a car to begin with.

Massive want indeed. The racers though - 2 litre 6 here - have that incredible raspy high pitch shriek that is so characteristic.

I'd love that on my Singer 911.

Oh, and just one wee question: Why's the company called Singer?

Great video.

On a sunny Thursday evening I walked up to Karrusel and this was one of the first cars on track. My god it was lovely.

Isn't this similar to what Paul Stephen's Autoart has been doing for some time? A 3rd of the price, still bespoke so you could get pretty close and buy one of those Alfa GTA-r's!
