Thanks for the suggestions smile

E60 M5 did pop into my mind but that seems to be a even more costly alternative :P

Not sure why but I'm very drawn to this XJ .... http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/j...

Edit: I did think about leasing but never took one out before (personal lease) and a bit worried about the balloon at the end.

This is such a strange thread, I'm struggling to wrap my head around the input you in-laws are having. There has to be more to it than is stated....

LOL,

Sell the car if it makes you happy. If you don't want to sell it, well, just dont!

Can't belive you would sell because in laws have told you to. what are they going to do if you dont? Send you to your room?

However much I adore my OH, an tbh love her family too, I have always remained independant and would drop them like hot coals if it became necessary.

I jest with the OH that Thailand is only a plane ticket away. Well, I say jest.

To the OP, he could play reverse psychology - tell the inlaws that they are right, money in the bank is more important so you are going to sell up and move with their daughter to a remote island/Spain/Thailand/Australia, depending on how far away you want to be.

Oh and that as money in the bank is so important, the will be no grandchildren.

I see looking at your latest thread that you're going for an E92 M3. Wish I could have an old banger like that!

Well found an offer I couldn't resist on the M3 - somehow I manage to justify the purchase due to 2 years servicing FOC.

Who did you need to justify it to?
