There's no way VW would have sanctioned a daft viral marketing stunt without informing every race participant
How do you know they didn't?

Forget asking why VW would commission an idiotic stunt like that, why on earth would MSV and whichever club is running the day make themselves look stupid for letting this happen?

It's annoying as it spoils the freedom of movement for everyone, no doubt it will now become a total pain in the arse to get into the paddock at virtually any track on virtually any race weekend.

There are race participants on PH who were on track with the driver. I suppose they could have been hushed up but it's very unlikely.

Working for a race team that does the TOCA package as well as club meetings, I can easily see how they were able to do this at a club meeting. Everything is always very relaxed and easy going at them, which makes a pleasant relief compared the the sometimes 'little-hilter' security guards you get at TOCA. I think this will now spoil club meetings forever frown

If it is as dangerous as it's being made out to be, then why was it just so simple for him to get on the track? He clearly made very little effort to do so.....

Lets make it clear, I am not saying what he did was fine, I am asking why was he able to do what he did.
Because a civilised society works on the basis of personal responsibility. Trying to blame this on there not being a gate is moronic. There shouldn't need to be a gate.

Between the onboard filmed and the one from the entry to Druid - the cars which pass the numbskulls match up - the first car to pass is the White, with green rear, followed by the green, with black wings, both in the same place on way round paddock hill bend.

Also - fun cup cars arent exactly "racing beetles" they are a mid engined, fibre glass body silhouette shaped to look like a beetle.

Get a grip. If this happened for real, we would be seeing photos and videos from spectators long before the driver got out of the clink on bail. Obvious fake is obvious.
Like this you mean?

VW Polo, Fun Cup, Brands Hatch 2014
Weirdly, there didn't appear to be a passenger in the car?

What a pair of completely irresponsible A holes! Seems to be quite pleased with himself as well judging from what he's put on his own FB page. Not entirely sure what they could actually be prosecuted for other than trespassing, hopefully a fairly hefty fine can be imposed on them.
Unfortunately some serious questions will be asked of the guys working the event as to how/why it happened, even if there is an assumed trust amongst the folks around an event like this.

I'm suspicious on the very professional zooming and stability of it.
Professional? I'd argue that. Stability is sorted in software post-capture, see videos where logos have been added to one corner and then they run stability compensation.

Sorry but humans are in no way shape or form a civilised society.

Even Cadwell has a gate to get on track.
"Even" Cadwell? laugh
What's wrong with Cadwell?
Sparse facilities? It's on a par with Mallory Park in that respect. It's a bit narrow and lacking run off, but an enjoyable (and challenging) track nonetheless.

Kent Police are reviewing the incident - http://www.sevenoakschronicle.co.uk/Video-Reckless...

Hopefully a file will go to the CPS for prosecution under Section 68(1) Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.
Maybe the girl whose car he was driving could also be done for aiding and abetting. Daft bint.

There's no way that's fake, far to many people online who were actually there racing witnessed it, they race got stopped 3 hours 10 mins into a 4 hour endurance race costing them thousands, no safety equipment being worn in the car and even the commentator called it a Golf instead of a Polo, something VW wouldn't have wanted.

Sorry but it's blantly a bunch of thick chavs trying to make a name for themselves, I hope the girl now grows up and finds herself a normal boyfriend, once her parents give her car back to her...

The daft bint was terrified and basically a hostage. If I was her father I wouldn't blame her too much. I wouldn't buy her a car again though. hehe

You'd hope that she's now single after dumping him but undoubtably she's bent over a public toilet somewhere being taken roughly from behind by him and his mates for a laugh.

This one is still laughing about it on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/zac.copson

Also seems from Facebook that they run their own business as 'contractors' - already somebody has commented about this on the Facebook page for the 'company'. Incredibly stupid.

Doubtful she'd get prosecuted, what's she supposed to do - bail out of the car? She wasn't a willing participant in spite of being in the car in the first place.

The real losers in this are going to be the fans who currently (or previously) enjoyed unfettered access to the pit garages etc at races like this, the least Brands and co will do is ramp up the security there.

What an utter tool "living every day like its his last" at the expense of other people simply enjoying theirs.
