Just the other night, Mercedes Taxi and Nissan Blob pull out right in front of me on a roundabout. Pretty normal stuff and I was going to let it go but the Nissan then proceeds to dawdle despite pulling out even later than the Merc so I give him a blast and he brake checks me.

The Nissan didn't brake check you, the Merc indicates left, so the Nissan slows. I wouldn't bother with the horn, it's not going to change anything, you might as well just accept it and chill out.

i'm not a fan of people accelerating on a roundabout, as it is difficult to judge speed pulling out.
[pedant mode]

teacher By definition, everbody who is travelling around the roundabout is accelerating, even if their speed remains constant.

[pendant mode off]
[super pedant mode]

Everyone on earth is accelerating, whether they like it or not, even if they stand still.

uk based compilation. Nothing as exciting as our russian friends.

Interesting that the guy in the astra van thinks he was doing the 'right miles per hour' to sit in lane 2 for miles when lane 1 was empty. Is that the view shared by all the lane hoggers?

You did accelerate quite quickly towards them, you've kind of gone out of your way to be offended by giving them a blast.
We'll agree to disagree then. I do that roundabout every weekday, and when I've had a late day at work I join without slowing and carve round at 40 if conditions allow. I wouldn't call the acceleration in the video quick - that's just tickling the throttle. Anyway, I feel I had every right to be annoyed, even though I half expected them to pull out right in front of me. As someone else said it happens all the time on that roundabout. That was a particularly close one though, which is why I bothered to upload it. As for the horn, 99 times out of 100 I won't use it but they did pull out very late and I felt justified in making sure they knew what they had done. Probably 80 times out of 100 I won't even mutter obscenties to myself.

Awesome carving skillz bro. But don't be the prick on the horn when you're much-quicker-than-average awesome driving catches out average Joe doing their shopping. Suck it up.

Hence why although I am not crawling, I'm driving neither aggressively or quickly. You might think I'm being the "prick on the horn", but I am driving at around half my normal (unobstructed) pace and they still pop out at the last minute causing me to have to brake harshly to let them in. I think they deserved a toot. Bro.

I despair if that's what these people truly think! He was doing 'right miles per hour' so that allowed him to sit in the outside lane with nothing on the left?

Most other clips are dash-cam warriors having little patience for those that are obviously lost and hence not foreseeing what they may do next, so enjoy the extra long blast of the horn and flashing lights at, well, nothing really.

Not normally something I would do, we all make mistakes and such and such.

But this guy yesterday was a proper numpty!

I was doing 30 in a 30, and he comes up behind me ragging the nuts off his A3 overtakes and turns off the wrong side of a keep left thingy.

To be honest all you had to do was lift a bit and then carry on your day.

If you're that offended/upset/whatever by that then I worry for you.

Genuinely nothing to be overly annoyed about in your video.

Reminds me of this clip that came across my news feed yesterday (skip to 1.30 onwards). The guy goes from singing along to some sedate random music to screaming obscenities like he's about to burst an aneurysm all because of... well... not much? Some people really need to chill out more lol.

But no-one ever uploads "I was driving along and someone made a minor error of judgement, followed by me anticipating their manoeuvre, backing off and not giving a toss so I didn't bother uploading it." now do they?

It's all "Absolute st-demon y-bks cuts me up on his way to burning down an orphanage and desecrating a church, so I posted this video and hope he dies!!!".

I have a dashcam, I have never uploaded any of it to YouTube. I have recorded people doing the sort of stuff like this roundabout video, but I didn't even bother to get it off the memory card.

Some people post a million photos of their children on Facebook. Some people post a thousand videos of their pets. Some people post videos of themselves going "WOOOAH!" whilst riding their bicycle on YouTube. I know one chap who texts photos of particularly full-bodied bowel movements to his friends. It's all in the same ballpark as uploading videos of minor rubbish on the roads.

I'm with Lunar One on this and I'm not sure what the rest of you are watching. All the poor sod has done is drive round a roundabout. He's accelerated to a perfectly reasonable 25mph or so by revving cleanly and briskly through second gear. All the while he's minding his own business when not one but two seemingly completely blind steering wheel operatives decide to pull out in front of him. He quite rightly issues an audible warning of his presence and carries on his merry way, grumpy at the knowledge that two idiots have relied on his skill/judgement/reactions rather than their own to prevent an accident.

What am I misinterpreting?
