I fear I may get attacked for this.

Not being a bike rider myself, I don’t get why these bike corners are so impressive. (Yes I get that they are low but don’t they all do that when racing?) What is so special about them? Is it because they are lower than everyone else or am I missing something?

Sorry to be so ignorant. By no means am I questioning the skill it would take to do it. Just want to know what makes the pics of bikes in this thread anymore extreme than any other corner on a bike.

(Call it a learning experience on my part.)
When leaning a bike, EVERYTHING changes. You can't brake, the suspension stops working, and any change in the throttle will have you off. The further over you go, the finer line you are treading, and the harder you will fall.

When you are leaning over AND spinning the rear, hanging the arse-end of the bike out, you truly are a hero who could claim money as a world-class racer.

I'm learning to ride at the moment, and believe me 'leaning it over' isn't as easy as it looks. You feel like you are leaning as far as Rossi when in reality you are about 10 deg from vertical.

They have immense skill and courage.
