I'm doing around 1200miles/week at the moment, give or take. Will take a while to get there even if you don't move!
1200 a week?! That's pretty serious mileage, you'll be catching me in no time at that.. For my usage, doing 5000 since May is quite a lot hehe

Skoda is on 120,000 now, touch wood nothing has gone wrong with it aside from service items plus a new wheel bearing at 90k and it just now needs a set of rear springs. Two years time will see it at 160k and due a second belt change, that might be time to call it a day then.

OH's SLK is now over 125,000, the only major problem being a recently fried ECU and camshaft issues, though the aftermarket alarm played at least a small part in that debacle. Is needing some paint though to tidy up the wheels and a couple of small rust patches, so that'll get done before winter. OH still loves the car though, so it'll be around a while yet.

It seems clear by all the replies 100k is no real challenge these days. I wonder is 200k now where cars generally have had it?

That said you can keep anything on the road just depends on how much your willing to pay to service it when it's value is negligible.

Superb.

Though I'd honestly say your thermostat is not I the freshest condition looking at the temp gauge. I'd say it doesn't close fully.
The amount of times they open and close in 100k miles is mind boggling and they wear out. Worth changing its easy on your car too
Picture is at least 15 years old, car was a 93 Astra, probably in the great scrap heap in the sky by now!

My 2000 Volvo V70 T5SE ( phase 2 ) has done 205,000 . I've had the car since 2001 , apart from routine service items I've replaced the rear exhaust box , alternator , battery . Still on the original clutch , the car runs perfectly .
My wifes 2002 Jaguar S type 3.0SE has done 186,000 , had the car since new . Have replaced water pump , radiator header tank , wiper rack .
Both cars are serviced regularly , washed by hand and receive a coat of Autoglym Super Resin about every 6 weeks .
Will think about replacements when they're worn out !!!

'99 Honda Accord on 167k. Only issues over then was a Lambda Sensor and a small water leak, both now resolved. Fantastic car, will be with me forever.

'98 Lexus GS300 on 148k. Not one issue at all, no creak or rattles. Brilliant!

To be honest, i wasnt planning on getting rid, but it was just sat there doing nothing and a mate needed a winter runaround so it kinda made sense. Im hoping he'll be bored of it by next April so i can have it back for a few track days though lol ... wink

There is a 55 plate disco 3 I know of with 518,000 on the clock.
The original engine did 478k before he changed it to a low mileage one, the engines in his garage.

Ironically the new engine has went bang, but since it was fitted by a LR main dealer and was in the dealer workshop at the time, it's getting sorted. It got a serious freshen up over the suspension and transmission at 478k.
Did 180k as a wombles car before he got it. He uses it as a tow car.

Regular servicing and fixing problems when they arise has got it to that mileage.

Ahh, that one. I actually used the story of your car as a selling point when moving on my own 2.6 A4 on "only" 120k smile thanks for that haha!

Ross, that makes more sense wink I think I'll be first to 150k, then! That'll be a nice milestone.

But there is no mileage (or age) at which cars of any era have "generally had it".. their treatment is absolutely everything, as the A4 above shows - that one on its original clutch, but another I know of similar vintage was slipping like a bh at 100k.

My E36 M3 Evo that I bought 5 weeks ago is on about 117,700 (1000 of those miles are mine). Had it on the rollers at the weekend, and it produced 309bhp at the flywheel. They were 316bhp as standard.

We've got a couple, 03 Focus 1.6 on 112,000 and an 02 A4 1.9tdi on 170,000. Both running sweetly, and hopefully for sometime!

When it does come to replacement time I'll probably look for something a little under the 100k mark knowing it's good for a few more.
