The wonderful (and bonkers) world of JDM

Sounds like my old (deep breath) Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE111 BZG. It had the last iteration of the 1600cc 4age engine, this time with 5 valves per cylinder, individual throttle bodies and an 8,000rpm redline, totalling around 165bhp (claimed, at least!).
I bought the front half of an AE111 BZR, and fitted the drivetrain to my mk1 MR2 (AW111).Peak power at 7,800 rmp, rev limiter at 8,300.
Claimed power is about right with a free-flowing exhaust .
What about JDM vans?
A mate at work has one of these (4wd) :
He has the 3 litre v6, and it drinks a bit, but there was also a TDI version.
Anyone want to buy an extremely rare and beautiful JDM classic that is currently in the UK?
If i wasn't a young person trying to save for my House Deposit (Bloody Boring by the way) i would have bought this already.
You may remember it from Gran Turismo
An Isuzu 117 Coupe!
I have a feeling it may be the only one in the UK

I think these are 'concepts' for now but they have shown coupe and shooting brake versions of the Copen too

I'm pretty sure the new copen is using the tech on the new model. There are 11 replaceable panels i believe which you can choose and customise at the time of purchase.http://www.autoblog.com/2015/12/29/daihatsu-copen-...

The new daihatsu copen has a new feature they call d-frame. It's basically like a old Nokia phone where you can change the body panels yourself and customise it. I think we're about to see some crazy st coming out of Japan!
