Megaprat.
Firstly - as said before - why do people think because they have a kid, quite capable of walking, they should get priority parking. Non-walking maybe, but still. Disabled, yes.
Secondly - this is a concession by the store, not some sort of legal right. If the store is not prepared to enforce (and generally they won't) why does he feel he has a right. Massive sense of entitlement.
Third - he's a simple bully. I don't believe for a moment he would have done the same to a 16-stone, tattooed, shaven headed man in a white van - but it was safe because it was a women.
In my city centre Waitrose I frequently use these bays without children. I've never seen them all used and if the other bays were a sensible size then I would be more inclined to use them. And no I haven't been challenged on this by anyone, and I am quite obviously not the only person.
Anal retentive ahole!
Yours sincerely

Do you drive a Range Rover (or similar Tonka) or a large German diesel saloon?Firstly - as said before - why do people think because they have a kid, quite capable of walking, they should get priority parking. Non-walking maybe, but still. Disabled, yes.

No I don't have a massive sense of entitlement. I have an objection to people claiming priority or privilege because they claim special status.grayme said:

And your point is ...A business can offer any priority or privilege they want as long as they don't breach race/sex discrimination laws. A reasonable person would morally respect their decision. If you are moral you would respect their wishes and go shop somewhere else. But because you're a typical L'Oreal person you don't.

Could be me but I see that as poor white line painting, that should only be 1 parking space, the space near the support poles is not wide enough for a car, look further down in the picture to where the next batch of support poles are, that section next to the poles has Stainless bollards. Whoever painted those short end lines on the space should not have made it a T but an L(the next two spaces down are wider).
Still crap parking though

If it's being done a lot the local Traffic Commissioner can have a word with the company involved I believe.https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/traffi...
Harrow Council CCTV car parked on double yellows blocking one lane of the main road into Harrow centre during rush hour. Clever.
Loads of parking spaces free? A bit grey, but it's not raining?
Sod it, I'll park on the double yellows right in front of the store rather than walk 15 paces to the closest space

Having spoken to an operative in Islington who did the same thing she seemed to think they were.fatboy18 said:

I saw them from some way back and was queueing for a while. They were definitely parked rather than dropping someone off or ticketing another car.Is the driver still in the car, I see the indicator is on?
It is a single yellow line, but that still means no parking during peak times. This was definitely peak time. They were also the only car parked in either direction for the whole length of the road. Later on when I returned several cars were parked (making it one lane in either direction) but that was off peak.

nearly every day there's one that parks near Liverpool Street or further on down Old Broad Street It is a single yellow line, but that still means no parking during peak times.
