Not the worst parking in the world , however bloody annoying and inconsiderate; I think this is a carer for the lady over the road.

I've gone out to pick up my grandson and come back, I can't park infront of the Celica or behind it, fair enough if the whole of that area was taken up by cars; I'll park further down the road, however it isn't.

Annoys the hell out of me.

Probably left a gap so that car on the left can get out the drive easier

Harrow Council CCTV car parked on double yellows blocking one lane of the main road into Harrow centre during rush hour. Clever.

Loads of parking spaces free? A bit grey, but it's not raining?
Sod it, I'll park on the double yellows right in front of the store rather than walk 15 paces to the closest space

That first photo is truly shocking. Someone actually bought a CityRover.

No, it's just inconsiderate, the road is plenty wide enough to reverse out of the drive without having a car parked opposite being in the way.

Either they haven't grasped reverse parking, or drive through parking. biggrin

On the plus side they are not taking two, spaces, just half and a bit of the road.

Note the distance from the dividing line behind between the bay's and the back of the car

Should, have gone to spec savers. Still worth a letter (with photo) to the council, and local plod me thinks, they are not above the law.

Having spoken to an operative in Islington who did the same thing she seemed to think they were.

ave I missed a line? Theres only one yellow line there, Not Two?

Is the driver still in the car, I see the indicator is on?
I saw them from some way back and was queueing for a while. They were definitely parked rather than dropping someone off or ticketing another car.

It is a single yellow line, but that still means no parking during peak times. This was definitely peak time. They were also the only car parked in either direction for the whole length of the road. Later on when I returned several cars were parked (making it one lane in either direction) but that was off peak.
If they have exemptions then they are not breaking the law. They almost certainly have exemptions.
Probably something for another thread, but it makes a mockery of the rules if the enforcers can break have exemption from the rules to.... enforce the rules.

You get plenty of cars parked on the pavement on housing estates but this one on Sunday was taking the piss

Not really, how could cops catch speeders?

Out with my grandson today, with him in his buggy, as I go to cross the road, a FedEx transit pulls up on the side that I'm heading for and pulls onto the path taking most of it up; just where I was heading for, I was going to say something however he clocked me walking towards the van; he was at the back of it and I was approaching the front, he stuck his hand up and apologised before I had a chance to say something, fortunately there was a bit of grass that I could put half the buggy on as I wheeled past his van.

I know that these people have a job to do and are under pressure to deliver ASAP, he applologised before I said anything and sounded sincere so I'll let him off.

Not bad in any way, just weird. A totally empty car park, save for four cars. Parked right next to each other.

In the original post, we are not referring to cops, but local council CCTV, I am pretty they just can't park and obstruct the traffic, there used to be a good one on you tube of similar situation, plod educated them, and they buggered off.

No photos as I was driving. A couple of days ago. NSL single carriageway road. No street lighting and 5pm hence dark (and busy). There are houses to the left down a path. Mavis on her way home from the shops wants to drop her pal off at her house. So stops at the side of the road. Facing oncoming traffic. With her headlights still on. rolleyesrolleyes

Hate it when people park up on the wrong side of the road with the lights left on. Even after being flashed they still seem to be oblivious to the fact they are blinding people.

I drove past a prius pulled into the opposite side of the road, well half on the road, with his full beams on facing traffic.

I'm pretty sure you're right, but parking on a yellow line isn't normally obstruction. the police deal with obstruction, councils deal with yellow line infringements and have exemptions to deal with it.

This is one of my top irritations, happens most nights on my way home, people park half on road / path in front of a newsagents with their lights on full, and because there's a lot of traffic both ways, you're sat waiting to overtake this parked clown with their lights shining right at you while they sit in the car clueless..

Whoa. Bit harsh. But a little deserved. All the bad parkers look like L'Oreal generation people.
