Visited Haarlem in Holland the other day and saw loads of these Canta things (strangely I've never seen one in The Hague in 6 months living here). Apparently they were originally designed for disabled drivers, are narrow enough that they're allowed to use cycle paths, and don't need a driving licence.

From the noise they make I think they're based on a lawn mower.

Followed this little gem in The Hague but unfortunately couldn't get a shot of the front.
Turns out it's Burton; 2CV based like a Lomax, only rather better looking.

Just stumbled across the 1993 Honda Crossroad. Reminds me of something else....

That surely has to be a LR Discovery but built for Honda?

A bit like my Crosser is an Outlander/4007 with a pretty nose!
Honda had a 20% stake in Rover and LR at that time so there was plenty of badge engineering. TheHonda CRV is a copy of the Disco.

Plenty of badge engineering going on then between Honda and Rover Group - but the CRV was/is emphatically not a copy of the Disco. CRV was/is unibody & wishbones - Disco utlised chassis and powertrain (initially) from the then-current Range Rover.

Much more learnt from LR by BMW, to whom Honda sold their 20% stake, and who used those learnings in developing the X5, etc.

Where do they sell that? I know in other markets for some reason they still favour saloons over hatchbacks so you see these weird looking creations that are reminiscent of some of our models.

Bound to be India. Looks like something they'd go for.

When I was in Mexico I saw a Polo saloon that looked a hell of a lot better proportioned than that

ETA: Apparently it's the new Vento

India has sub-4m tax relief. The Polo saloon would be too long for that, hence the stubby shape of the other.

May have been posted already but I'm not trawling though 90+pages to find out.

At work the other day we had an 08 DIESEL renaultsport Megane. I never heard of them before. I got excited as I had to test drive it, thinking it was a 225 or whatever they are. Jumped in and fired it up and it was diesel!

I thought, someone's spent ALOT of money making a diesel replica, it had the centre exit flue pipe, brembo's, the seats, the lot! Turns out it's a proper thing. 175bhp oil burner. Went really well actually.

Cool story bro.hehe
