Maybe showing the way that PH is going these days?
Pistonheads should dish out ASBOs to chavs or just fkwhits who think a car with a bodykit is better than sliced breadWadeski said:
dude, you drive a Citroen VTS, the weapon of choice for the free insurance brigade
(and if you haven't seen anything more ghastlier or more chavvy than that Skyline....you haven't seen my car )
Quite true but at a tender age of 19 when I got the waggon, insurance was an issue on anything other than that car. The joys of motoring lol. (and if you haven't seen anything more ghastlier or more chavvy than that Skyline....you haven't seen my car )
Edit - I just noticed that you have a Toyota Mr2 turbo. They aren't chav as standard at all. Infact they are a very good car. I have driven the N/A model and was very impressed with it's 160 odd bhp. Bang for buck the mr2 is a fantastic car

That would look really good if it had a squarer front bumper and some older lights that suited the shape better, it just looks like 2 different styles of car comparing the front to the rest of it.I don't mind some visual modifications if they look good. Regarding the euro look cars, it just seems like you can get it right or wrong.
For example, while I don't like the car above, I do like this:

I've no doubt of the Mine's Skylines reputation. I've seen the video.
Doesn't mean i like the way they look though.
What was the point of the thread again, looks or performance or what?

Just cause I don't like euro golfs doesn't mean I'll stop others from posting (unless it's really bad!)
But then it's all subjective, what's to say ANY euro golf is a decent modification?
What we need is a PH definition of decently modified. And what i'm saying is, the way PH is going these days, it's not a Tuscan Race Car that's floating boats, it's a debadged Golf on little chrome rims.
That's either a triumph or a tragedy depending where you're sitting.

Where does it end though?
Let's say someone sees your mk3 and thinks, what stupid mods, that thing should be lower with a turbo engine, stripped with a full cage and aero mods.
I know that's not what your on about entirely and I'd rather not see any more golfs dumped intothe floor being held up by bbs wheels. But we can't please everyone!

Ah but i wouldn't say mine is decently modified.
Just because it's all i've been able to afford to do so far doesn't mean it's what i'd call decent.
If i was finished with it, maybe
I think decently modified should make everyone go "ooooh" and transverse personal taste's. Now THAT's hard to do, and would be deservant of the prize of the thread.

Aye, that is the problem, it's so subjective. But, there are machines out there that seem to gather universal approval. There was a certain Volvo that I posted early on in this thread that had this effect.
Plenty of external modifications that a lot of folk seem to dismiss just because they're changing the looks, but with all the internal mods you'd hope to do with your own car...
And for contrast, another really cool modified Amazon..
We need two different modified cars threads, looks, and performance! :haha:
Obviously the highly modified power/handling stuff is in a completely different league to the likes of the chrome wheeled golfs, but I think 'some' of the euro-look cars show how you can tidy up the appearance of what is usually a pretty bland looking car with just a few small changes. Which I'd call a decent modification. Though it's safe to say the euro look can ruin cars just as easily.
Looking at some of the vehicles people are putting together for various time attack/drift series shows some some serious work!
