Besides - it's a natural comparison: Vauxhall's performance icon of the early '90s, compared to Vauxhall's performance "icon" of the '00s and '10s. And yes, I do realise that they are utterly different in approach & execution; but they're still both the "bad boy" Vaux's of their time.

I guess if you were told that by Lotus then it must be true, but I find it very hard to believe as the engine will be way below the boost threshold and will probably be fitted with lower compression pistons than the standard engine.Interesting if true though - I wonder how it manages it?

Fond memories of a few nearly new ones we had when I was a valeter/driver for a Nottingham BMW garage in the late 80's early 90's...managed nothing more than an extended blast around the block when no one was looking...respect, would also go into my imaginary lottery win car barn collection...awesome tool, little or no driver aids....its not for girls to quote a tv ad.

I always lusted after one of these - so much faster than anything similar at the time. There was a dinghy sailor who had one - his Vauxhall garage weren't over co-operative when he asked them to fit a tow bar to it! Somehow he persuaded them - it created quite a stir when he drove down the beach, dinghy behind. I doubt that it blunted the performance much.
