An Impreza did a 113mph average at the TT what to do better?

This topic came up last year and a few people suggested evo/'impreza/gt3.
Anyone know What spec was the impreza was? Track prepared Spec C?
US-spec Impreza with a remap for high-octane fuel + some safety equipment and a loud exhaust.Anyone know What spec was the impreza was? Track prepared Spec C?

Probably closer to standard spec than Pond's car was.

we used to have f1 cars around the old spa and at the old nurburgring, around rouen, GT cars around sicily at the targa florio... it's no issue.
I wouldn't be surprised if even a 1970s single seater could beat the current bikes at the IoM.
Don't think an F1 car would ket heat in it's tyres.I wouldn't be surprised if even a 1970s single seater could beat the current bikes at the IoM.
A Pikes Peak car would be a bit more like it.

Yes, but not ground effect cars with zero ground clearance, and the Florio GT's are not exactly extremely low race cars. The other thing is that even a moderately bumpy Spa or Nordschleife isn't a bumpy public road with drain covers, dips, hollows and a hump back bridge. Have you actually watched the coverage on the TV, the bikes are all over the place.I wouldn't be surprised if even a 1970s single seater could beat the current bikes at the IoM.

Ariel Arom V8
What with a top speed of what 140 ish? Dream on. Wouldn't even get close. I'd probably pick a Radical if it has to be road legal.

Let's say it does do 160 which with those aerodynamics is doubtful, it would still not come close. The bikes are doing 180 plus for very long periods.
You think a car with around 500 bhp won't be able to do 160mph? I would say 180mph+ is perfectly feasible with the right gearing. (Ariel say up to 200mph for the race version, although that might be a tad optimistic)0-100mph in under 5.5seconds is not to be sniffed at either. The power to weight is better than the current GP2 racing cars.

Glad it isn't just me who thought that
If you want to beat a bike, how about a Caparo T1?
The Caparo won't even get out of pit lane, every test shows it broken down or in flames :-) Guys, you will need proper road car road clearance, yes, Nordsleife, Targa etc are/were proper roads but they are not repaired pot holed roads with big bumps and all the road furniture. From experience the TT circuit is proper bumpy in places and that was on a road bike (996 sps duke and latterly a 2008 blade) with a steering damper and not at suicidal speedsIf you want to beat a bike, how about a Caparo T1?

Eh?
The V8 has just over 500 bhp, and a power / weight ratio of circa 900 bhp/tonne.
It'll be knocking on the door of 200mph, I'd imagine.
the trouble is that power to weight ratios don't matter when deciding top speed. The V8 has just over 500 bhp, and a power / weight ratio of circa 900 bhp/tonne.
It'll be knocking on the door of 200mph, I'd imagine.
and once above 150 or so, a bit more power will be not a lot more speed.

Wouldn't surprise me to be honest.
