I don't think BMW believe in cup holders, but Americans demand them, so they put no effort into them.

The silliest ones are in Aston Martins. They're in the armrest about where your elbow rests, or, more importantly, in a manual car, perfectly positioned for any cup you are stupid enough to put in there to be knocked over backwards by your elbow as you change gear.

Ford Focus mk1: Can't actually get a decent sized flask between the cupholder and the dashboard grumpy

Hired a lwb Ford Transit last year and counted 6 good-sized cupholders so my vote goes to that biggrin Two on each side, plus two that fold out of the dashboard on a tray.

Totally, all the borderline pedos from last year will have replaced their gymnasts with new ones.

That merits a new thread: "How old is the half eaten Snickers in your door compartment?"; or "Do you pick the carpet fluff off the under-seat Werther's before eating it?"

I think we have a definitive answer to this question.

The Rolls Royce Phantom Aviator surely has to have the most exquisite cup holder in existence?

Between the thighs of a middle ranking tennis starlet for me please.

BMW Z4 ones are crap and rattle incessantly.
I know this is an old post but this is incredibly important info. Mrs-C wants to replace her TT early next year and about the only thing she is looking for in the new car is a decent cupholder. I'd suggested a Z4 (because I'll get to drive it occasionaly so 6 cylinders and RWD would be good) but this single feature will nix the deal so it will probably be another TT and I bet it ends being oil burning and convertable furious

One of these folds out of my dashboard. Pretty nifty huh?

Wouldn't let it hold my cups!

ETA - I realise now that the answer is to replace Mrs-C with a Scandinavian beach volleyballer ....

My XJ Sov doesn't have a cup holder at all. I can get a centre armrest with one but it would cost 200 quid (and that's second hand) so it's not going to happen.

What are the best aftermarket ones which don't involve any drilling/damage to the car?

I saw this one and have wondered if it's any good:

Any others?
