Should be a real laugh... at least until Nissan announces the price, then reason might prevail - which likely means going for the car that lent this its oily bits.

Still, good to see the Japanese can still do bonkers (outside of dreaming up rather unfathomable model designations for assorted domestic market lifestyle accessory transportation thingies). smile

Exactly what I was going to say, why would you put in the GTR engine in the old state of tune?
That's what it says on the Facebook page. Maybe they don't want it to be faster than the GT-R?
That may be true. Coz GT-R's 0-60 time is sub three sec, not sub four sec. Juke is a much smaller and lighter car. It may not be as quick at the ring as GT-R, or as fast in terms of its top speed. But if they do put the same 2011 GT-R drive train in Juke, it should at least be as quick 0-60 as the GT-R.
You guys are talking like they are going to put it into production.

Hmmmm....a Juke that is a GTR underneath.

Starting with the premis that if I wanted a car with Nissan GTR running gear, I'd probably do pretty well by buying myself a Nissan GTR - this boils down to a simple question. Do I want a Nissan Juke?

And the answer is still no...

Well, 80's Group Bs are usually based on B-Segment superminis. Despite being a small SUV, Juke is a B-Segment car just happen to have 4WD and a very curved body shell. How could you not see this 500bhp+ AWD B-Segment hatchback as the modern day Group B monster?
Read the original posts again, you have missed the point. Does this honestly look like a 1980's Group B car to you?

There's nothing wrong with the Juke, a great piece of design. It's a shame that I will now get shouted down under a sea of TTTTVVVRRRRRR and EEEEE3333000000 etc etc and testosterone. Oh and MMMXXXXX5555555555!!!!! I really can't be bothered to argue however. Shame.

The standard Juke is somewhat more interesting than the bland, conservative French and German euroboxes that populate our roads. This banzai-Juke suggests to me that people at Nissan still have a sense of fun and a sense of humour. Good on them thumbup

Joe - you opinion on the design is duly noted, and the joy of such a subjective subject as design is that you don't have to argue - as it's each to their own!

Still don't want one though... wink

Joking aside, what exactly costitures 'great'design about this random mish mash of lines and curves? Styling - maybe, but design?

I rather like the Juke, at least it's different.

I applaud Nissan's tendency to take it's cars and do stupid things like this to them, but until they actually sell them, it's all a bit meaningless.

I'm not a fan of the standard Juke - a bit over-styled IMO - but the GTR version just seems to work.

Would be fun to drive though, maybe a bit "twitchy"? biggrin

Why not put the GT-R running gear under something light and good looking like Tommy Kaira did with the ZZII? Instead of a bloated beast.

Ok yes we'll use the word styling in this case, as I suppose design instigates the whole package being great. When it is actually another crossover albeit a very small one. There isn't a random mish mash of lines. All I can see is some over sized wheel arches, rear lights that follow these and the window line to create an interesting rear light. Oh god I'm entering a debate and backing out as I don't have the time. Stuff to do.

Couldn't agree more. This'll be the equivalent of the Aygo crazy. A one-off built with left over parts someone found in a shed somewhere (that probably explains the engine bhp) built for the sole purpose of gaining column inches and a bit of brand / product halo, and from the comments on here the juke could do with some of that for the testosterone "I'm not bigging myself up but I can look after myself" male market wink

Why is the rear wing split into two pieces? - couldn't they find a bit of plastic long enough to go the whole way across or is there some revolutionary aerodynamic advantage to having it look crap like that?
