RE: Bloodbike Delivers Lasting Legacy
Discussion
God, that's a shock. SUCH a nice bloke, and after all he'd been through succumbing to bloody gastric cancer.
That 007 ball really was an epic evening, and I remember it especially since it was that evening I finally turned into an old fart. All but one of my passengers were women, in ball gowns and various stages of rattedness. Rather than thinking 'oi oi things are looking up', all I could think of was 'please don't be sick on my alcantara'..
It's good that people can remember him and smile.

A very noble cause, done
Don't know if you'd made the connection but you were also involved via a certain White A6 Avant 4.2 V8 in hindsight we should have hung onto that as well, it would have made a great bloodcarThanks to all who have donated so far, it really will be put to great use.
Here are the contemporaneous memories of that unforgettable evening with Ali and his regimental chums.

The work goes on evey night often unseen and unnoticed under the cover of darkness, this picture was taken within the last half hour at a changeover point at some services in South London every person in the photo (and the one that took it) is on a live job!
Feels like this thread should be kept up top. Come on PHers, dig deep for a fantastic cause.

Good afternoon, last night we had @Busa_Bloodbike taking platelets to Maidstone, then taking samples onwards to Tunbridge Wells at Pembury
Wouldn't it be great to have a PH Bloodbike work alongside on the fleet? Dig deep, please. mel said:

The one behind the camera was me. I wasn't even on normal duty, but there was a need for an urgent 2 way run of samples out of Maidstone, and platelets going back. There are also 7 volunteers out there every night of the year and 24 hours at weekends and Bank Holidays, just in Kent alone!
If any of you needed any further proof of the good these bikes do then try the following heartbreaking but beautifully written article we will never know for sure if it was a SERV bike that helped keep that young man with his family a bit longer but the one thing we do know is that it is a SERV supplied hospital and they used a product that is delivered several time a week.

Are BTaP charity funds going to this?
I believe that the BTaP charity raffle is in aid of Cancer Research, a more than worthy cause for us to support. If there continues to be interest and support for the PH Bloodbike then I'm sure the Ali B bike and guys from SERV will be happy to come to PH events to show more about what they do.

Big fan of CR and the work they do, as you know.
