If you want to go silly b taxi, try bigcc turbo busa or the flying Dutchman with 267mph on that runway with a road legal bike.

A veyron won't do that and costs about 14 times that of the bikes mentioned,

My point is if you want to match the Porsche at least put it up against something abit more every day than the panigale.

I'd like to see one against Ghostrider's turboed Hayabusa, that would be more comparable to an Underground Racing Lambo!

It is quite astonishing how much performance you can get for how little money when it comes to bikes.

Is the Panigale limited to 186mph like the 1000cc Jap bikes are? May have made a difference......

of course, because a GT2 RS is any 'everyday' car...........

(not)

didn't really tell us anything we didn't already know (though the bike did surprise me), but it made great viewing. nice one Chris.

Chris,

If you are reading this we will lend you one of our 9E20 Porsches - it would crush that bike at Brunters. Ran yesterday at Brunters with 225mph on dash and 213.7gps.

Velogee a Porsche gt2 is not exactly a veyron is it!

Put the Porsche up against a s1000rr or any delimited jap 4 cylinder hyper bike and it will get beaten on that runway, why are you surprised at bike being so quick? They weigh nothing (circa180kg) and make between 170 and 210hp these days .

Nope. They are still trying to get the car to win in a straightline. Over 170 then.............most relevant.

Still don't understand why they using the over-hyped pretty Italian thing on the bike front versus efficient no bullst teutonic masterpiece on the car side? Surely use a BMW S1000 as the bike benchmark, Panigale is for hanging on a wall in your loft apartment!

Good video otherwise. Keep them coming - its a loooooong winter.

The gauntlet has been laid down !

It actually would be a pretty interesting feature to see how just far you can go to tune the turbo beetle so that it is on parity with a superbike..... Ken's building the fastest 911turbo's in the country so at least we know our 4 wheeled friend has a fighting chance...

All fine and good but now, you're going to, what appears to be, a highly modified race car. That is hardly an apples to apples comparison.
I go to the drags a fair bit and to be honest, production cars, cannot get near superbikes over the 1/4 mile.

That would do the trick I think wink

Shirley the best job here is just an AWD 911 Turbo with lots of power and someone who doesn't care much for clutches or very soft tyres?

When you watch the video the bulk of the lead is taken up in the first few seconds. I'm guessing the bike is pulling almost 1g right off the bat while the GT2, err, isn't.
