Will be interesting to hear to price. Bearing in mind I am getting my C63 remapped in March (Eurocharged) which should give >500bhp and include a delimit for under £1k, I'm wondering how much extra £££ the Edition 507 will be.

Also, having to have 19" wheels wouldn't be to my preference (although if they're lighter then I'd change my mind).

Out of interest, what is it you specifically dislike about them? I thought i'd hate mine, but actually it's fine IMO.
For me, it's the idea that you have a foot pedal to put the handbrake on, then a button to take it off. Surely having a button to do both is more logical and more economical for Mercedes.

I have no problem with the auto transmission. Just that pedal being there annoys me enough to not want one. It's a silly point I appreciate, but it's a deal breaker.

Having driven a C-Class for a while you'll be amazed how quickly you get used to it... it took me about 2 weeks! I've surprised myself because I now prefer the mechanical feel of the Merc handbrake to the "is it on or did it automatically just release?" uncertainty with the electronic handbrake on my other car (Evoque).

I was under the impression the 6.2L V8 had been 'retired' in favour of the 5.5L turbocharged engine?
As I understand it, the engine will be retired in favour of the smaller lump but the 5.5 doesn't or cannot be made to fit in the current C class hence them continuing with it for the time being. When the C class is replaced next year the AMG model will have the 5.5 V8 instead.

I have done some reading up on this as I am desperate to own a C63 and although am sure the next generation with the 5.5 will be great, really want to experience owning the 6.2 V8 powered rocket ship (I test drove one and the noise alone sold it for me). Basically if I want a new one (there are some fantastic offers at present for MB) I need to do it this year otherwise it will be used only, which to be fair isn't the end of the world.

As I asked my poor long suffering Mrs to marry me I don't think I will hit the target of this year now, although it would have made a great wedding car and there would be no excuse for being late! smile

The next C AMG will have a new 4L turbo V8.

I think I'd prefer a standard C63.

I have a 2012 C63 PPP and IMHO, the 19 wheels are too big with PPP suspension, you'll shake yourself to death. The interior looks identical to mine, including alcantara wheel.

You need to be careful what you wish for with these things, they are easily spoilt by silly technology (and I agree the foot brake is daft, but you get used to it, like you get used to iTunes being rubbish):

Surely they didn't actually bother to retune the engine? You can picture the meeting: someone sticks up their hand and suggests that the standard C63 can't handle the power and they should detune it by 0.6%
It'd likely due to some flight repackaging.
For example I would expect the exhaust to be a little more civilised and maybe the airfilter a little quieter than a track focused car. All has a minor impact.
Alternatively they may have tuned the car for torque at lower rpm which could have a knock on reason.

I doubt they set out deliberately to be 3 hp down.

Looks to be very similar to the C63 DR 520 from a few years back.
I had the exact same though, why wouldn't you just buy one of those?

They are a limited run of 20 so the residuals will stay stronger, they are marginally more powerful with 513bhp and you get even more alcantara for your money!

Maybe I am missing something?

[the brake discs are] only 360mm in diameter.
That would be the same size as the actual wheel on my car then!
