That is downright hideous. It really is spectacularly ugly. Lost for words on what BMW must have been thinking...

I've just spat my lunch out after laughing so much when I saw that. Jesus Christ, what are they playing at. I thought that Jag were doing a pretty good job stealing BMW sales with their current line-up,but this is just going to be handing sales to Jag.

Could be my eyes or the picture's angle but I find that the long bonnet pushes the front of the car in a shark nose sort of stance that's very nice to see the return of.

Lovely looking thing.

Opulent cruising machine with a kerb weight of 7000 tonnes and rear seats that will only ever be used when it's owner's wayward son requires more than one prostitute for the evening.

Looks very much like the spiritual succesor to the 8 series to me. Quite a few design cues in there that are nods in that direction.
And that being the case I like it very much. Just hope they give it the 8 series designation.

Me too. Great attempt at creating something that's slightly outside of the norm....can definitely see some lines from the 5 Series GT though, I'm guessing the proportions would be similar also.

Looking forward to seeing these in the classified in 8 years time for sub £10k. They'll likely come out at about £90k/£100k, and quickly plummet just like the Merc CL's, making them a potential future bargain!

The front reminds me of something from Cars or Thomas the Tank Engine.

Better than most BMWs though.

I quite like it, would look better in a more interesting colour though.

Like someone else said, its good to see hints of shark nose again

Some of these new BMW's have taken a lot of design cues from the Jaguar range IMHO
That was my first thought too, looks very similar to the earlier Jaguar XJ Concept

I can imagine a 2 door Jaguar looking much nicer than the BWM but as we've found with the Bangle designed cars, they were a good 5 years ahead in tearms of styling.

Nice car wasted by that stupid grill BMW have across their ranges!

I just can't believe that they, 'BMW' would constantly design the whole front of their cars around such a boring design feature.

It's a shame the actual XJ didnt look similar to the earlier Jaguar XJ Concept.

As for the BMW, it looks elegent, a modern 8 series.
Now BMW, bung a V12 in the front and a CSi badge on the rear, chop chop.
