What a top man Webber really is..... non of the foot stamping, spoilt child pretense we see (or dont get to) of certain 'number 1' team drivers.
That's because he's a 'number 2'... wink
Whilst I had a lot of sympathy with Webber in Malaysia, he is hardly proven himself to be a team player. In Brazil last year he was pretty petulant in how he worked against Vettel in the title decider.

Nevertheless, this is a good move. WEC is proper, flat out racing at the moment. F1 isn't. LMP's are currently racing within 2% of their ultimate qualifying time. F1 cars are currently having to race 6% off their ultimate pace. Ironically, F1 has become more like Endurance used to be.... There's some interesting Michelin and Dunlop data in both these stories....

Damn. Another normal human being leaves F1. I'm sure Bernie will find another boy band member look-a-like to fill his seat. Kimi, we're counting on you more than ever.

I think you'll find that Red Bull already have some more Aussie grit in mind...

I can't wait to see how the F1 teams change at the end of the season and to see if anyone follows Webber, I'm actually more excited about that than I am 90% of the remaining races.

Most of all though I'm looking forward to Le Mans 2014.

Mark is a top bloke and this is a good move for him. He will be a big loss for F1 which is sorely in need of some proper personalities such as Mark, however it's a great coup for Porker who will hopefully be able to stick it to Audi next season.

The remaining F1 season will be interesting. Will Mark tow the line and help RB to another Constructor's Championship, or will he seek to settle old scores? It should make for an entertaining couple of monthssmile

In respect of his replacment, surely Kimi is the top candidate. However, Kimi doesn't strike me as a man likely to take team orders or accept the Seb Vettel personality cult within RB.

I was fortunate enough to meet Mark (albeit briefly) and was struck by how decent a guy he was. Certainly no primadonna and a talented driver to boot. Hopefully he will finally shine with Porsche and not have to put up with petty politics etc.

Also hope to pop my Le Mans cherry next year.

I wonder if Audi will be under "Team Orders" to hand the win to Porsche in 2014 since VW own both Audi and Porsche? Are VW still planning to come to F1 in 2015?
You mean in the way the Bentley Speed 8 was an entirely different car to the Audi R8C??

(Good luck Mark BTW - Excellent decision)

Yep top decision. Good luck Mark.

Though the irony of the fact that we've just had the first death in a race at Le Mans since 1986 a few days ago, and Mark Webber stating a while ago that he would never return to Le Mans because of the danger involved...

Probably shows how cheesed off he is with Red Bull and F1 in general.

Can't wait for next year!

Button is very marketable, along with he would be a perfect fit in to the Red Bull brand, due to his interest in sports.
IMHO
