There is absoloutely no need to use an AM company unless the 3rd party isnt admitting liability, or the insurance of that person is messing you about.

Since they have admitted fault and are offering you a hire car, there is nothing to be gained from using them except the risk that an argument will ensure on unreasonable hire car charges when they had offered you a car.

£48 a day seems plenty and as long as they give you something reasonable I see no issue.

Avis will hire a 3 series for 336 a week...

When someone ran into me Albany were my insurance companies "legal assistance company". Even though accident was 3rd parties fault I gave my insurance company the other guys full details and they dealt with his insurance. (I figured that's what I pay them for). Everything was sorted through the insurance yet Albany emailed me 3 weeks after the accident to say they had been unable to trace the other driver! Even though they had been forwarded his details. Utterly useless, told them I didn't need their assistance!

Be careful, they wanted to write my car off because I didn't want to use their bodyshop. They did not even know what the damage was.

Accident management companies have their place, but yes they do milk every step.

my Beemer was hit by a bus, the company arranged:,

my car picked up taken to garage of my choice
hire car (lotus Elise) delivered the next day, I needed to use my car that weekend
my car repaired
picked my car up and left the lotus at the garage

100% painless

it is run by a PHer too

But they gave me a clear choice of using their recommended bodyshop or, if I wanted, pick one I was comfortable with.

I have cancelled everything with Albany and my insurer. I called my insurer to change my claim to a notification only. I've decided to do everything via the 3rd Party insurer, Markerstudy, who have been awesome. Very clear, open and helpful.

I got a letter from them in the weekend explaining how to organise the courtsey car and the sentence "at no cost to you" comes up several times which is reassuring. I'm currently driving a 130i and they said they would give me an equivlaent which is nice!
