That is an actual shed and I suspect cheap for a very good reason. The sort of rubbish the pops up on forums after some fool has bought it thinking he got a "massive bargain" and when it turns out to be pile of useless knackered toss goes on about how unreliable French cars are.

Good for breaking but I wouldn't buy it and expect it to actually work or keep it's cambelt in place. These cars don't like being neglected.

Great shed - buy it for 550, do nothing and if it breaks, sell the parts.

Deffo break this one. Needs belts etc and will still be cosmetically challenged. Better to spend £1000 on something in the first place.

Dayco cambelt and tensioner / pulley kit is £130. Can't be impossible DIY, surely.

Based on bitter experience, I wouldn't have another early Noughties Renault as anything other than a gift, and even then I'd hesitate. I'm sure these are great to drive, but no thanks.
+1.

I ran a 182 for a short while, they're really not that special to drive either, despite what the kids all say. The most overrated car on PH in my experience.
I hate to do this and I've managed all my time on PH without suggesting this but most overrated car on PH has to be the MX5 surely?

Brilliant shed!
Ran a 182 for a year or so. Fantastic car. Cam belt change is a pain, removing headlamps, front panel and bumper etc....
Still think this is worth the dosh.
Unreliable? Just the job for a TVR owner then....

How much would you expect to pay for a decent independent garage to change the cam belt?

That steering wheel looks hideous.

Great shed. Got to take Cambelt into account as it's due, not cheap or an easy job. Or run till it dies and break.

Bang on. I wish the seller well but as a SOTW I wouldn't take it if you gave it to me with £600 in the glovebox. It'll cost more to get through an MOT when the intermittent ABS light turns into a permanently on ABS light.

(Actually it won't, someone will pull the bulb, but there's another reason I wouldn't go near it).

Ha-ha! Good one.

However, if you are being serious, I would hate it if you were my boss. Your standards must be carzy high! Perhaps sir uses a 4.0 GT3 RS to go and get the milk?

Highly recommended that it's only changed by a specialist. So many of them get ruined by local garages changing the belts.

It's around £430 for a proper job.

If it was close I think I would go down with some cash & haggle. Would make a good winter hack, run it till it dies or push it on in the spring.

£600 can't go wrong for a cheap little track day weapon, change the steering wheel and cam belt strip it out thrash the arse off it! What more do you want for that kinda cash?...
+1, I'd give it a bit of TLC and strip it out then rag the arse off of it until it died, worth £600 of my money, plus a fettle (so call it a grand-eleven hundred quid) any day.
