Most ridiculous size tyres on car

I run my road car on the manufacturers standard tyre sizes. They are 40 profile at the front and 35 profile at the rear. I'd be grateful for any advice you might have which would stop me from being a 'muppet'.Vladimir said:
BMW 3 series are tragic for silly sized wheels but even my 150 diesel astra had 225/45 17s - the same as our 335d!
It's possibly the most retarded fashion fad devised by the motor industry.
Want wheels that break, knock your teeth out, kerb at the merest hint of an opportunity, weigh far more, use comically priced tyres that a supercar owner would wince at? Sure, may I point you towards these 19s/20s - a mere three grand extra - oops sorry I mean a mere £18 extra per monthly payment.
I always found the E92 320d particularly good for this. It's possibly the most retarded fashion fad devised by the motor industry.

CHEAP ROAD TAX!! HIGH MPGZ!!!! Cheap to run ecomobile with low monthly payments.
(But don't mention the fact that 4 new RFT's from the cheapest online supplier come in at over a THOUSAND POUNDS for those snazzy 19 inch wheels everyone specs)

If you say so. My 745i running 40 profile tyres on 19 inch wheels and the ride quality is lovely and they don't look daft. So why am I a muppet for using what the car left the factory with?

And what's the relevance of it being in stock?rallycross said:

Indeed. The general pursuit of low profile is not a driver or passenger based design decision. Hard suspension, low profile tyred family cars are not conducive to a great ride.

Can be found but are a pain in the bum as not many cars use this size and relatively expensive for what they are. Bridgstone RE040s (what the car comes on - and what I have on the front) are £120 fitted each. ETB only had 4 tyres across their 21 depots. Ultimately not that much I know, but for something fairly dinky... £120 is a bit of money.
(guess who has been tyre shopping)
