2.5 seconds is probably minimum for any power(with that weight), it could have 6000 hp and still do that time
The 7.9-second AMS car does 60 in 1.72s, 0-100 in 3.03s, on US street-legal tyres, and I think may be heavier than standard with the cage and so on.

in US you can have street-legal drags on your car if you want

I'm talking about tires that won't send you in a ditch when you take a U turn in rain doing 15 mph

I don't like the look of the Nismo, I think it looks too tarty and tupperwareish with the red skirts and ironing board on the boot. Over priced too.

Of course, not sure they alone would drop the 0-60 time by a third though.

It is what a range-topper is about though isn't it. Look at the Porsche GT3 RS. Very gaudy and loud. The Nismo looks conservative compared to that.

I'd have to agree - the standard car (particularly in red) looks so good - the NISMO just looks too stick on and tbh "cheap"!!

A lovely car but ...

A jumped up Datsun for £120k - what happened to nissan punching above its weight at half the price?? Even the beetle is losing its way at £145k and 1.6t :-(

There are lots and lots of much better secondhand cars at this price - 2010 Gtr for around £40k and turbo s for £80k for instance hehe

The new LED headlamps are cool and a softer ride on the standard car sounds good, but I have to say I'm not sure on the NISMO yet. Deeply impressive performance, though.

Bloody amazing time that, it's almost knocking on the door of cars like the new P1, and 918. eek 7.08

And for a fifth of the price

Bargain of the century

It's pretty amazing how such a heavy lump can accelerate and turn that fast. I want one - but not for £120k! hurl

Do you know what a Datsun is? Its nice of you to pay a complement though.

A totally epic car in every way. If only they made it in Europe and charged £150k more i'm sure it'd sell by the container load.

Superb piece of engineering. Performance stats are very impressive.

But I still think if I had a spare 120k laying about I'd be walking into Porsche....

I agree.

I've had a couple of 911s but this NISMO seems more special to me, probably because it is rare, much less obvious a choice and certainly a bit left-field.

The default choice for cars like this is a 911. Thats understandable because the 911 is such a good car. But if you want something different this is the obvious alternative.

Its very different to a 911 of course. Very different indeed. But thats a good thing IMO.

0-60 time has nothing to do with maximum power unless the gearing is such that maximum power is made somewhere on the way to 60. 0-100 or 0-200 is likely to be more representative of (maximum) power to weight, but at some point aerodynamics will be a greater limiting factor than traction.

Interior was dated when it was first released IMO....

Saw one on my way to work this morning, a brutish good looking thing that is ageing very well on the outside..
