'Classically skilled drivers' perhaps?

Yes, some of GT6 looks like it was lifted from the original XBOX! Forza 5 looks a hundred times better.
I'd agree with you there, although a lot of the standard car's have been upgraded. In terms of physics it's brilliant, it feels better than any other console game.

No mention of the Volvo in the text?
I was wondering that. Perhaps Dan was trying to match the disappointments with an equally disappointing bit of journalism.
I was thinking the same, I quite like the V40 T5 R-design! Its a bit of a change to the hard riding blingy German hatches

Amazing how much time grown men spend arguing over computer games.

Add the hell bent pseudo purists and their hatred of anything with an auto, turbo, diesel or safety kit and you have a lot of disappointed, rather beardy men sat in the corner, grumbling.

There's nothing wrong with adults playing video games! I probably play 5-10 hours a week, I'm 26.

Yes, and to be a real man, there should be no synchronizers on the gears, no power assisted steering/brakes, no ABS, cable operated throttle and clutch, no electronic aids to injection or timing and nothing designed with the benefit of a computer.

Sounds like my sort of car biggrin

I drive a 1971 mk1 escort. Ok it has syncromesh gears. And a turbo...
But I much prefer the back to basics approach to motoring, where you can feel the car doing its thing.
Modern stuff is like piloting a computer game,no feedback.
Not for me,thanks.

Some still do! But the benefits of FI were pretty obvious at the time and didn't instantaneously spoil cars - you could still have FI and a cable throttle and have a super clean, snappy throttle response. Whereas paddle shifts are great for pensioners and feckless idiots who can't handle a manual, but can leave the enthusiast cold.
Someone needs to coin a new term for the manual driver's massive superiority complex.

I really would not put three of the most significant driver's cars launched this year as one of them being the Clio 200, trust me on that!

If it was as good as the last one or better, it would have been!

I'd say biggest disappointment for me was ECOTY 2013's review of the 4c, most reviews were pretty positive, EVO weren't so keen...

Biggest disappointment for me - and lots of others - is the price of car insurance for young and new drivers.

I say good on them for not showering the 4C and the AMG A45 with praise. They stuck their necks out and I respect them for it.

I found the acrade game style handling very unimpressive. It's about as feelsome as SEGA Rally for the Saturn. Hopeless.

In what way? A lot of games, GTA V for instance are aimed at adults.

A variation on this suggestion, borrowed from the catering industry, how about 'Classically Trained'?

I'm sure there must be a market for some kind of bumper sticker for those who wish to announce their mastery of the manual box to other motorists, come on PH, let's see some in the shop!
