Ford do a Mondeo estate with the Focus ST engine in, think its called a Titanium X or something, always though they are pretty cool.
Nah, Titanium/Titanium X is the (top) spec level. It's the Mondeo Titanium X Turbo (according to the V5) or the Mondeo 2.5T (to everyone else).IntriguedUser said:
Mondeo ST220
Audi A3 3.2 Quatrro
Those are two cars with looks basic, especially the A3, I'd class those as sleepers.
As someone commented recently about the 2.5TAudi A3 3.2 Quatrro

Corsa C with a Z20LET
225 BHP
I still wouldn't say that's a sleeper. I have upgraded suspension/brakes and other supporting modifications. Its a sleeper in a sense, I can't figure out how, as I don't particularly know the true definition of a sleeper. Bit embarrassing getting blown to pieces by 225bhp and 1000kg in a Corsa, then stopping at the next lights with your Mrs in the car, Ha. It's not a sleeper because its fast, its a sleeper because its a Vauxhall Corsa which is unsuspecting. I have figured it out, unsuspecting? Obviously that's the whole point of a sleeper, but peopel are sheep and badge snobs, so a BMW/Mercedez/Audi wouldn't have the same SHOCK factor, because people think they're fast because of the Badges. Corsa is known as a learners car, learners, ha!

I once followed a mk2 astra merit in st brown, that I could see was different, but it was all very subtle. Grey Bumpers, 15 inch steel wheels, with a standard Vauxhall trim, clear windows, and no dents, with a nice shine to the brown. 225 BHP

A little lower than normal, and a slightly larger exhaust, (but not that big). I got up close, and I noticed at the bottom of the Number plate in small black letters "190 BHP 2 Litre 16V XE Powered"
Five mins later, we join the M57, and I attempted to keep up. Well after I'd done half a mile, the astra was gone. Now that is a proper Q car. A q car has to have Steel wheels, and can't have tints, or body modifications.

Why didn't I think of that Can't think of a stealthier way to annoy owners of 'fast cars'. I think BBR can take one to near 350bhp, not quite sure how they stop it torque steering into a fiery ball of deathly flame though.

Despite not being *that* Q car the Mazda 6 MPS is unrecognised by most people for what it is.Official 0-60 of 6.4s but magazine tested in the mid 5's....
Don't really see the point. A dull car that has a lot of performance. Why not have a car that looks interesting? Good styling is enjoyable all the time, even when stuck in a traffic jam.
It's not as if a 'Sleeper' won't be detected by a speed camera or get bogged down in the UK congested roads.

Exactly. Just see the tales of people with Scoobys, Porsches, Ferarri's etc. Who are forever getting people wanting to race them.
The MPS slips under the radar of 99.9% of people. A few people know what it is and have had comments like "Wow it's a MPS, that's faster than an M3" (it's not btw but thanks anyway).
No one knows what the Mondeo 2.5T is. The only give away is the twin exhausts, lack of a TDCI badge and a small 2.5T on the left wing. Nothing on the boot to give it away.

There's a video somewhere with a corsa c running iirc 400bhp impreza engine and 4x4 running gear.
I'd hazard a guess at it being absolutely bat sh*t mental to drive
Aha, the blue one. That's specky's!I'd hazard a guess at it being absolutely bat sh*t mental to drive
Looks like your bog standard 1.2 corsa with some rims, and lowered suspension!!

When is it ever safe to drive 'to the limit' on a public road?
When the road is quiet. When the car can handle it.
When you drive within your own capabilities.
NB.'the limit' does not always equal 'illegal'. Neither does it always denote unsafe!
Thought for the day:- If I were to drive at 130MPH on a motorway in UK and got caught I would have the book thrown at me because the speed limit is set at 70MPH as it is too dangerous to drive faster than this.
If I travelled at 190MPH on derestricted Autobahns in Germany the Police would say...Cool!
Why?
I quiet like sleeper cars and in particular the Subaru Legacy GTB and the Mitsubishi Galant VR4.
As standard they are brilliant machines and an utter bargain when compared to their competition. Furthermore they are discreet enough to not attract attention yet fast enough (especially when mapped) to give some serious metal a nosebleed.
Edit - Add the Nissan Stagea Day-Z too
