I have a Jazz and it is bloody brilliant . £2,000 won't get you a very good post 2007 car thoughInterestingly, the UK buyer demographic for the Jazz is totally different from other worldwide markets for the car where it's bought by younger drivers.
Luckily, I don't give a fig about such things.

Thanks for the great response and many suggestions. The reason for the tight expectations are i want to make sure the car i select is durable and fit for purpose. I also want to reduce their motoring costs and pick something economical. I would not consider a Honda Jazz as i associate them with the older generation. The Fiesta MK6.5 is still winning it but have also been thinking about a Nissan Note and a Mazda 2.
The C-MAX is too big and i am not a big fan of them at all. The Peugeot we have does have a high seating position. Currently the Peugeot is dying and due a MOT at the end of the month so not sure what to do with it.
Keep the suggestions coming
MOT it and then ebay it whatever happens with the MOT. It'll shiftThe C-MAX is too big and i am not a big fan of them at all. The Peugeot we have does have a high seating position. Currently the Peugeot is dying and due a MOT at the end of the month so not sure what to do with it.

Another option might be a Ford Fusion, I mentioned a Note as my folks have one and the seating position is a bit up from a normal car. The Fusion is a half way point between normal car and something at the height of a 307's front seats, so depending on her hip, back and knee joints, it could still be OK to get in and out of without being too big to drive
The Note would be my first choice, but it's whether you can find one for the budget you've got.
What about one of the small kia's there's reasonable looking rio's and picanto's on autotrader within budget.
My sister has been running a cee'd for the last 10 years and it's been pretty much faultless anything that's needed doing has been covered by warranty. It's pretty boring but can't fault it for being cheap reliable transport
