You are sort of excusing ford from needing a DSG box, on the basis of not much, are they too tight to develop one? I thought they are available essentially 'off the shelf'. You could have the popping and banging, and blip downshifts etc which would suit an rs a lot.
Or you could just do all that by using your feet.....you know, driving?

When are we finally going to be able to read a first impressions report or road test review? All this propaganda is beginning to get boring...

I have been waiting 8 months for a part for my Focus RS.

The same Recaro seat that's in the new Focus RS 2016.

While i love the cars i don't hold out much hope that Ford will support the new car with parts when it cant supply the same parts for the old one.

I think you'd be surprised with the insurance element - the VAG offerings in particular are ridiculously cheap to insure.
if a new Golf R is less than 180 fully comp, yes, I would be surprised. being one of the most stolen, current hot hatch at the moment. nice as they are, all the current modern hot hatch group all seem to be chasing headline figures. what happened to light weight, bare bones basic spec cars ? or does every new car have to appeal to a bigger audience than normal ?

In my early twenties (10 years ago) I would have been all over the RS.
Unfortunately I don't think I could stomach the interior quality of the Focus RS in a daily driver anymore.

I do hope that this is the beginning of the end of Haldex in this segment, good job Ford. clap

How old are you? I'm early 30s and my Golf is £300 fully comp, with a low excess and I live in an area rated medium-to-high risk.

Neither do I, but I might go for one after dropping my wife at the train station, then my children off at school and nursery...
You could do that in a car which doesn't have the compromise of additional holes it the bodywork....nit picking I know, as the Delta Integrale was a 5 door, but I personally don't like the trend for maximum doors on maximum attack cars...
I agree in that I don't like the trend for not offering the option of 3 and 5 door, but the appeal of cars such as this, is that as a package they offer very little compromise. Loosing doors is a compromise some people won't make.

Tell me about it.

I still don't get what all the fuss is about. You could have all this in the old Evo FQ340/360s. It's hardly breaking new ground.

Autocrat give it 5 stars- it owns the hot hatch sector. It's better than an RS3 or A45. All that will happen albeit slowly is the Germans will play catch up. It's not my cup of tea by I congratulate Ford.

Mid thirties, mine's £224 with low excess and business use.

With warranty, annual servicing, hatchback practicality and does 37mpg? No you can't.

Looks impressive, I had a MK2 from new, loved it at the time, not sure I would want one now, it didn’t have a good image.

This one looks a lot more tame though, not sure if that's a good thing or not.

This issue is I doubt many lads in their early 20's can afford a £30k car, it's different if there are cheap lease deals etc (Golf R) but there is basically no support with the RS.

They are currently developing one. However if there is a manual option with any sports car, I would go for that over the DSG any day.

Just sad that Ford doesn't support their prestige RS models with parts. I have been waiting 9 months for a Recaro bucket seat.

Costs me £180 to insure a Golf R fully comp for a year. And that's with speeding points on my license. It was £160 last year, damn inflation.
