Even a 911 sports these! (Not all models).
I didn't know that, I just think clear lights ruin the back ends of most cars, its why mine has the reverse light tucked away under the rear bumper. I even flashed over the lens lightly with some tint spray to take the shine (as it were) off it.mat205125 said:
Doesn't really count, as I saw my first RHD Mustang at the Autosport show at the weekend.
Echoing the above, I was pleasantly surprised with how sensibly sized it looked, and really liked the well balanced blend of modern and retro touches.
Whilst a V8 seems like the most appropriate engine for the car, I can't help thinking that the 2.3 Ecoboost would be the one to have ...... There will be loads of RS tuners about releasing big power, and the lighter engine might make it a sweeter handler.
No matter how much more power your tuned Ecoboost was making over the stock V8 or the fractional increase in front end poise you had gained, one day you would find yourself next to a V8 with a decent exhaust on it, the sound of the V8 would immediately make you regret that choice.Echoing the above, I was pleasantly surprised with how sensibly sized it looked, and really liked the well balanced blend of modern and retro touches.

I saw my first one the other day near me in Manchester near just opposite Old Trafford. There is a Ford dealership just round the corner from there funnily enough.
Sad to say i was quite disappointed and underwhelmed. It was the 5.0 V8 version. The driver didn't boot it or anything so can't really comment on the noise because i didn't hear much. It just looked too European and like everything else on the road. I just thought it would have a bit more presence.

The 2.3 misses the point for me, especially as there are so many other 4 cylinder turbos out there that are already set up much better than the mustang which is built to cater for carrying a v8. I'd see it as a poser's car whereas the V8 is very cool. Could just stomach the fuel consumption but don't fancy the £500odd tax bill every year though. The appeal disappeared for me as soon as I heard about the stupid EU rear lights which just make it look gay. Needs to have the red sequential ones. That humungous GT badge looks gay too.
Good to see you have your priorities right.I could see myself buying a V8 Manual in a few years time.

Pfft, ones already been crashed in Aberdeen/shire
The crashed one is the previous gen. Still sad to see.I've not seen one on the road until last week, weirdly as I was hooning around the dark country lanes in my S550 V8 that I had only picked up that lunchtime.
Very narrow lane and I'm trying to squeeze past the oncoming car, who is doing the same. Pitch black, no street lights and it only hit me as it passed and I saw the lit up tri-bar lights.
Another new Mustang.
I hated the idea of the white lights and faux gas cap and various other changes to the Euro/UK model, but now I have one, it's all forgotten, even the one year wait.
It handles, it goes like stink, it's not terrible on fuel and the cabin is such a nice place to be that I have started using it as my commuter and leaving my daily at home.

Once the 2.3 version leaves the showroom it'll be worth £2.50 on the used market. People buy Mustangs for the V8 muscle not some eco-friendly hairdryer engine.VeeFource said:

Doesn't the road tax standardise in 2017 to £140 after year 1?mcflurry said:

Indeed it does. The first years showroom tax is the same horrific lump as it is now but after that its £140 per year and as long as you don't go for a 'fully loaded' convertible it avoids the luxury tax too.VeeFource said:

+1. Cannot fathom why you'd want the 2.3. Can fathom even less why you'd buy the 2.3 with the intention of tuning it to release more power. It's never going to be cheap to run, so just get the proper one.PanzerCommander said:

What is wrong with happy lights, or did you mean they were homosexual lights, however that would work.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
