White with blue stripes and gloss carbon everything, please.

Have they released the RRP for these?
Follow this link and scroll down to 2017 model and make sure you're sitting down when you read the rumored price:

Hearsay on wiki but as good a guess as any other.

So $485k Stateside, probably equates to £400-450k on our shores?

For that price do punters not want / expect a v8 or v12?? I think I would, if I was in a position to spend what will be 1/2 million on a supercar. It does look stunning (a bit sh!te inside mind).

It is a cracking looking car and the only sad thing is that it should have been Lotus producing something that looks as good as this.
What's wrong with Ford doing it?

Wot? No blazing orange? No lime green? Well... maybe next year.

Okay... Matte black. A stealth weapon, if you will. With the only indulgence being the silver brake calipers.

It is going to be a hell of a car but it is a shame the sound will be let down by the turbocharged V6. They should have at least went with a turbocharged V8 for a better noise profile. It's a little complaint but I feel it is quite important for such a halo car.

My heart agrees with you. But my head says, "Crikey, that's an impressive statement Ford are making about the future of motoring and about their engineering prowess."

Maybe they still have the same bean-counters they used at jaguar with the XJ220? Nothing wrong with the performance from a V6 in such a car, it's all about the marketing. This is where they need a successful motorsport programme, which is why they're throwing mega bucks at it.

It's an odd choice for the US market where v6's are what you buy your teenage daughter to learn to drive in.

It's not just for the US market though. At that price point it's either for investors who only care about whether the value will go up, or hardcore wealthy enthusiasts who buy for the performance, not the bragging rights.

I was not keen, and got keener when I read the article about the run out at Daytona and it's about trying to take victory at Le Mans for the 50th anniversary of the GT40 success at Le Mans.

I didn't get the looks of it when I first saw it, and not sure about it now, but when it's a racing car the aesthetics are less important. I'll be happy and see it as being a success if it wins at Le Mans.

It's not a looker, I am never going to be in a position to buy one but if it wins at Le Mans it'll be the stuff of fairy tales.

Fair enough. I got the impression you were having a downer on Ford. To be honest, Ford have got the bigger bank balance, although I would love to see what Lotus could come up with if they had Ford's budget.

It's not classically good looking is it but with the motor racing requirement taking priority it does not have to be. I bet it has amazing road presence and will have small boys ( and grown men ) asking questions whilst you fill her up at the petrol station.

It's not going to be two a penny either so will have even more wow factor.
