One of our shareholders has the W12, on a trip from Swindon to Thruxton he got an average of 9mpg.
It`s very brisk for it`s size though, I was pleasantly surprised. Absolutely fantastic inside as well.
My point exactly . The diesel offers near enough the same pace (better low down torque in fact), the same levels of interior luxury and all with better mpg. Winner winner chicken dinner. It`s very brisk for it`s size though, I was pleasantly surprised. Absolutely fantastic inside as well.

Why do people who spend £150,000 on a car worry about fuel economy?
What they save on fuel can go towards paying for the clock?https://www.carwow.co.uk/blog/bentley-bentayga-tou...

not to start an argument with you, but what's to love? I care for the brand, and to me Bentley is NOT this. It is big, thunderous powerfully long distance cars, le mans winners, etc etc. Not Diesel bling machines. Yes I know it will sell well. And make VW loads of cash, and help secure british jobs...and I am sure there is already a rap video with a few of these in. But..BUT...... shame
To me Bentley is about blasting across continents in effortless, ultimate luxury. You should arrive completely unstressed and feeling fresh. Ignoring the perhaps unfair negative connotations diesels have, this is still a 435bhp, 664lb ft V8 that fulfils that role+ more and that's why I like it

Although it won't bother the first owner, it will bother me as a prospective 2nd or 3rd owner (or 4th or 5th most likely !) of such vehicles, the overly complex diesel engines are just ripe to give your wallet a serious shafting when they go wrong. Other manufacturers have recently said they don't plan putting diesels in small cars in the future because of the complexity and cost of making them meet emissions targets so that means in larger cars like this Bentley, which was already going to have a fiendishly complicated diesel engine, it's now going to be seriously over complex and costly.
Also I doubt it will get 30mpg, I'd put money on 15-18 mpg if the petrol is giving 9mpg.
Edit: Despite the interior looking great, the exterior is still vying head to head (and winning) with a rancid, half shaved pig in worst looking pig competition.

if u live in conti eur
driving to the south is a pleasure in such metal
not only is it comfy and fast
but when u arrive ...u arrive in style outside your chosen accommodation or resto
TBH, to its target market it probably doesn't matter that it is not traditionally attractive - as long as it is distinctive and obviously expensive that will do.
Actually, the looks are growing on me and I think the interior is great.
CAR magazine had a great write-up on the petrol model this month - they were seriously impressed with it.

It's bloody hideous, setting it against the back drop of the lakes makes it look even worse. I'm sure it will deliver what the potential customers want but I really can't see the point of it in the UK. Having driven a similarly ugly tank sized thing it the US it'll probably sell, and fit right in.
I can't get over what a total mess Bentley are making of external designs. The Flying Spur and Mulsanne were bad enough but the proportions of this, coupled with the brief to align it with the brand has resulted in one of the ugliest modern vehicles I have seen in a long time.
Money and style. Never further apart.

I've seen a few of these now, and had a really good look around one at a Bentley dealers a couple of weeks ago.
The front end with the silver mesh looks truly aweful. But the interior is a lovely place if not over done on the colours and stitching. Don't see the extra cost over. RR though.

The fact you roll out this tired line shows you know nothing about what you speak. Change the record mate, hiphop has moved on since the 90s.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hVPnxiYeGI
