You need to put a pound in the swear jar for coming out with that line.

Not an insult to you aquarianone but to most people in this thread
£100+ seems really unreasonable for me just buying a retrim for a car I dont even drive. She wants it a bit bulkier, spending £100 quid retrimming or buying a new one for £260 is going to have exactly the same effect as a £10 genuine leather universal cover.

Im not here for the cover anymore, i've already decided and I won't be convinced

Has anyone owned an E91 and bought door bins for it? Again function over form it's a fking 4 cylinder economical family car! If it was a 335i i'd have a bit more respect for it. To me it's white goods and to my wife it's the car she wanted.

I'm getting increasingly fed up with Pistonheads' more and more unhelpful posters that seem to think that they can be really indirectly annoying and take the piss. No, i'm not going to flounce just really fed up.

Close to buying these:

For only £9.50 it doesn't seem too bad, and I might get a retrim on it or on my car by Jack in the future, right now £100 is a waste of time

Has anyone ordered genuine dealer frames from BMW Germany?

Poundland.

I mean seriously a cover and some stuff for £8.50?
Is this PH Gocompare with the 0-10 pound filter on?

What's the point in spending £50 on a cover then? At least then for another £50 you can get it retrimmed.....

Either do it properly or don't do it at all.

What's your fixation on the plates? You said this was about function.

I don't think anyone here is been nasty to you, I just think what your asking is unusual.

Well, it's a nice subtle touch.

Your wife's hands are to big for the steering wheel?? What about the 'ahem' gearstick?

I think your problem is your cry for help.

A proper cry for help on ph is usually held back for life or death, emergency car problems, big life changing problems or gut renching sadness.

What you're asking for is a different type of sadness!

You will get your answer, no doubt about that. PH isn't spiteful, someone out there wants to share their knowledge, but in the meantime we will take the piss!

German plate holder for what you called white goods? "Genuine" leather cover, and 17" wheels only to ruin the ride and handling by putting runflats on? Take her out for a meal, romance her and have the best sex you have had all year. Then wake up remembering why you married her and what it feels like to be alive.

These are good. Time consuming to stitch on though.

I was wondering the same

Plus in fairness we don't know the OPs age, he and his missus may be in their 70's and therefore an awful tacky steering wheel cover may be the accessory of choice

It would be worth checking that the standard UK plate fits the German frames. I imported an Opel some years ago from Germany with dealer frames on, but I cannot remember if the UK plate fitted, they are certainly thicker than the pressed metal plates from Europe. Also don't rely on the clips around the edge of the frame to hold the plate in place, you will still need to screw the plates on.
