Saw that on the TV the other week, sticker in place. Great work by all - I wasn't here then.

Agree that 'speed matters' is the perfect slogan for the whirlybird!

Great job guys!

Just think it's a shame that such an obviously good idea has to be funded by charitable donations, the government should be ashamed of themselves for not stumping up the cash for keeping these things flying.

i agree you dont give for the recognition but considering the donations from p/h'ers alone amounted to roughly ONE SIXTH of the price of the thing a not inconsiderable amount AND started the whole ball rolling it looks a pretty p*ss poor patch ... makes me wonder how much the owners of the other "stickers" coughed up

See what we can do when we WORK TOGETHER. wink

Well done to everyone on here. I gave what I could at the time and that's all any of us can do. To be part of something larger is nice.

These things are so important to saving lives in a very congested Britain - well done!
We've all heard about the number of people who die on the M25 waiting for surface ambulances to arrive - we could do with a few more of these everywhere!

I spoke to a guy who works on one of these a few years ago. He said that although funding was an ongoing concern, they did not want the Government to pay. Basically they do no want the interfering tcensoreds sticking their oar in.

I think it is not unlike the RNLI. If they weren't totally independent then there would be management consultants, health and safety, efficiency analysts, health and safety, middle managers, health and safety, lots of blond 55 year old women with shoulder pads and Range Rovers, health and safety, and no space left for the professionals to just get on and do the job.

It might look like a small sticker, but on Helicopter Heroes (Monday night BBC1) it gets shown quite a lot because it is at head height. If someone had to think up a motto for the air ambulance then "Speed Matters" could scarcely be better!

The stickers are not the biggest but are positioned in a prime spot on both sides of both aircraft and are very prominent on approaching them, agree fully with comments on logo "speed matters" sums up the benefits of air ambulances spot on and all at YAA are aware and extremely thankful for your efforts in raising that huge amount of dosh. clapclapclapclapclap

I think it's an outrage that such an important piece of emergency equipment is reliant upon donations. The Air Ambulances along with the RNLI should be funded by the Government in full!

They are quick enough to waste tax payers money on other crap, but yet the things that really deserve it have to make do with donations. It's a bloody joke this country.

Was the intervention of the air ambulance required as a result of the accident or because of the injuries inflicted on you by your brother? wink

none of them want to be funded by the NHS/Government, as someone else said it would cause them more trouble than its worth.

After spending a day with them a while ago looking at the new chopper and meeting them they are all eternally greatful of the money we raised for them.

Stickers on the chopper arent cheep we have a prime spot on it we also have stickers on both of the helicopters for the forseable future everyone else has to pay a substatial yearly fee for it.
