Flat cap and scarf is what you need ..... yes

hehe
I have ski hat, fleece, and gloves ready for my 90 mile journey to present wifey with it tomorrow (I live away from home during the week, due to work)

I'm buggered if I'm EVER driving it with the roof up.

Well, I know it's all about power to weight ratio, but I over took a couple of cars without even changing down and this one's supposed to have only 88 bhp so I'm not that sure it matters. I'd have gone for a 1.6 Eunos, in Yellow if it had been my choice. LOL I'm middle aged and balding !!!

Joking apart, what spec oil ? I think I only keep a stock of GM semi 15w40 for the GM 8V's.

Just popped over to Leominster after work on the train, had a pint, followed by dinner, followed by paying for the MX5, followed by a 'blast' with the roof down in the dark, back to Shrewsbury in the dark, up the A49.

What an absolute HOOT. Mind you I'm a bit cold now, as it was sunny when I caught the train at 5pm, and I failed to take a coat or hat.
Could this be the end of your love affair with the General's old motors?

Just got back from Telford (to near southport). Lovely car, but I'd actually prefer a mk2 cav SRi 130 TBH. Anyway I'll spend a bit of time getting this perfect before I start looking again.

Since 2009 when we bought the MX5, I've fixed the arches and sills (with real steel, and proper paint - unusual for me as I've bodged things previously), sorted out the electric windows by buying 2 winder arms and throwing the motors in the bin, and fitted a new roof with glass rear screen.

I've also written off the 3rd Astra, bought and sold a 51 reg Vovo S40, replacing it with a mini 998 (fixing allsorts every week end it seems) and am using the mk3 cavalier as my daily hack to commute to Derby from Liverpool.
