Wow, love the vid. i work on these cars all day and wouldn't have believed it would go round the ring like that. Think this might be my first post too.

I agree it does look better "stretched" the lines seem to flow better? Which is odd as I usually prefer shorter versions of stuff. Makes you wonder if it was originally designed as a long 'un and then shortened for general consumption?

I love the no handed driving, braking car in front rapidly approaching bit at the end biggrin

Are there plans for an XJR?

I know video de-dramatises a drive but the unflappable character of the XJ still shines through. Would be interesting to see how the derestricted Speed Pack XKR fares at the Ring, I reckon it would be even more impressive.

XJ Supersport is the full fat version of the XJ with the same engine as the XFR and XKR.

I think they dropped the 'R' from the XJ and replaced it with 'Supersport' as it reflects the XJ image better.

Slightly off topic, I've not seen much press coverage of the standard XKR that did a 7.56 (IIRC) BTG a few months ago, driven by a Test driver, not a racing driver?

The XKR is probably the most underestimated sports car on sale at the moment. The derestricted one does over 170mph and would easily get up to that on several Ring sections.

Hello and welcome Ady, hope you enjoy the banter on PH, it's a cut above the norm I reckon.

The XJ looked to be very compliant especially as he wasn't shy of going for the kerbs. The smoothness of his driving the his comments about maintaining a constant steering position was interesting.

What a great guy to have working for Jaguar, a true petrol head that knows how to drive. Thoroughly enjoyed that.

Thanks for the welcome, usually frequent a couple of other car forums, PH for the news items. just had to post after watching the vid though.

His comments, when he took that group of cars, made me larf.

"We show them we are coming... ...and we say thank-you."

Does Riggers smell or did no-one want to take the 3 back seat spaces then? smile

I like that. It's like a sub-limo. Kind of limo but acceptably cool in a pimp sort of way. Like a CLS but better looking.

It's a shame there's only either a V6 diesel or V8 petrol though.
I would prefer a V6 Petrol that returns similar economy to that diesel, i.e. the engine that's in the current BMW 330.

Truly stunning car. The Jaguar range is brilliant at the moment; its odd for a boy of 18 to pretty much rank them as his favourite marque! smile They're doing something right...

I covet an XJ and have done for sometime. Its good to see Jaguar boosting the sportiness of thier cars, its a good way to get and maintain sales.

If you do any training with Colin Hoad at CAT Driver Training, it's what he teaches. And it really works.

Only when the fear kicks in. Would you risk it?
