Have been told I can change my car every six months or 8000 miles, which ever comes sooner. So I suppose I could try a Skoda, then ditch it in six months if I can't handle stigma....
Yikes so much for austerity measures, do you work for VAG?
It's in the car leasing industry.
Fair enough, I thought you might be a banker spending all my interestlaugh

If it was me, Audi A5. Would have to be the 2.0TDi but the Quattro is just within budget.
Isn't there a waiting list of about 10 months on these atm?
Hmm, no idea. If this is the case though, order one now and in the meantime have a nice hoon in a Golf GTi - will have to be base spec though!

Practical, easy to drive, bit of a Q car, sporty and surprising.

This is the sort of car every Elise owner needs for the other days of the week!

She might get by without 4WD, .
Biggest put down of the ladeez I've seen so far this year. Spinning wheels causes girls brains to scramble and turn them into old hags!

Really? I've driven the Golf with that engine in and thought it was horrible (the engine, not the Golf)
You stick to suggesting women can't drive and should talk about fluffy kittens mate, leave the driving talk and what's what to us real men wink

A 4x4 diesel Superb would be what I'd go for.

Honestly with that budget i would go with an exeo or superb beyond doubt. They are both basically audis in drag for a lot less money. The A5 is a nice enough car but have heard rumours about them having serious and expensive electrical gremlins.

I think this is the best bet since the skoda byo site is down. Satnav is simply not necessary as most mobiles have it these days.

Hobson's choice that is.

What a nightmare having to be subjected to an endless stream of dreary vagwagons. You have my deepest sympathies. I would pick the least conspicuous one, and put some cash aside for a fake beard/nose/glasses.
