Corrado VR6. I did 3500 miles in two weeks last summer and I have to say it was superbly comfortable even with the standard (albeit leather) seats - the driving position is excellent. It outshone my mates' E46 330i and Boxster S in terms of MPG too... Also, it's got that 'those in the know' image...

Drive a 200SX S14a and see if you get on with it. They still blend into traffic and don't have the "boy racer" appeal. £3k on the OC should get you a good one, tweaked for ~270bhp and slightly better MPG. Expect 30Mpg on a run and mid 20'5 elsewhere though.

but the thought of a near on 20 year old car with 'sporting appeal' does worry me - can once again (like the CLK) see the potential for a serious money-pit if a poor one is chosen
