Wouldn't a four wheel drive version just be pitching them down into Audi country?
sort of, but the BMW will have passion.Wouldn't a four wheel drive version just be pitching them down into Audi country?

Passion? Really? I suppose it's all relative next to the joyless offerings from Audi but I'd hardly accuse a German car company of passion.
You need to talk to an 'M' engineer if you want to hear "passion". They are so proud of their M-Products. And so they should be, they put a lot of hard work into their products - As do Quattro GmbH and AMG.Where have you got the performance figures from? As far as I'm aware this info still hasn't been released by BMW who never release performance figures for "concept" models and all information flying around the interwebs at the moment is speculation and guess work.
If you do have a genuine source for the performance figures though please let me know, if they are the real figures I'm surprised.

"and aluminium should help to keep the weight of the new F10 model roughly on a par with the old E60 version, despite the new car being larger"
The E60 is 6 inches wider, and 2 incher longer than the E28. How much more girth will the new one add?
Have you looked at an E28 recently? It looks extraodinarily narrow. The E60 is 6 inches wider, and 2 incher longer than the E28. How much more girth will the new one add?

"Start stop technology", on an engine with two turbochargers. That is a recipe for an expensive warranty claim
Id say it more of a starter motor issue. That will take some hamering. With the turbos, I assume they don't spool up until required which isn't when the engine is started.

You can keep the 'start/stop' thing (can it be disabled by the driver?), but otherwise that is a fab looking thing. Love it.
Yes, you can disable the system. Zod said:
Can't see a problem with it. Around town it won't disturb you, but will boost economy. On the motorway or on a hoon it won't kick in.
I was refering to, someone driving in a PH manor (on boost, sideways etc) and then suddenly has to pull up at a set of traffic lights (for example). The turbo chargers will still be spinning, then the engine shuts off as does the oil supply. Leaving two expensive BMW turbos spinning with no oil supplyiOversteer said:
