She was a young woman then, with plenty of money, had her own mind and was obviously a bit of a petrolhead.

The S1 RST was a very desireable car back then. I'd love to have that one now actually.

ETA: just read that Chaz comissioned it for her. Her choice though no doubt. Fair play.

Yes the red were datapost cars,the black was dianas car repainted in black from ford,also fitted with xr3i grille to disguise it a bit,very rare!!

Story has it that the press were very active in bad mouthing the royals for driving flash cars at the time, the RST was purchased by Charlie with her blessing to make it look like she was driving a normal working mans Ford. She chopped in her new SL Merc for it (apparantley).

Resprayed perhaps but not supplied like that from Ford.

Unless every article i have read about the unique Diana car is wrong or lying. It is pretty well known.
