As usual, especially in today's eco and financial climate, it's too big, too expensive, more than likely drinks fuel like water and pumps out more polution than really necessary, probably isn't and doesn't look particularly innovative or inspiring...
When have Aston ever been anything but all the above But driving/owning one is a whole different kettle of Carbon Dioxide.

Perhaps it wouldn't do Aston any harm to change, to keep up with the times ?
Why would they do that? If they made a hybrid version or one with a small engine it would put me right off. Part of the appeal of Aston for me is the ability to turn money into noise! I really couldn't care less how much CO2 it puts out, or how much fuel it uses (averaging 14.6mpg at the moment, can be as low as 7-8). You really have missed the point of this car. Go buy a Tesla if you care about the environment. Stonie said:

And for what exactly ?
I don't understand what you mean. What point are you trying to make? Stonie said:
My point is quite simple... in today's eco and financial climate, are cars this excessive really a necessity ?
They've never been a necessity. Given the tiny volumes they'll sell, the eco impact is negligible. Financially, well, what someone does with their money is no business of mine. Good luck to Aston hitting their sales targets.George H said:

Oh... and by the way, I'm glad you brought up the issue about the Tesla, you probably know it's based around the Elise chassis which was and still is exceptionally innovative and good at what it does... that's why I own an Elise, not an Aston !

I don't understand what you mean. What point are you trying to make? as for financial climate, Everyone buying one of these, is doing there bit to help
And as for Necessity, Do you realy need 2 cars yourself ?

Ok, so let's think about that...Lets start with the "Eco climate". How is a car that is made in very small numbers even slightly relevant to Eco issues?
A half empty bus , a badly tuned taxi with a worn engine, a train that is not full , a container ship carrying base metals from Africa to Japan to make batteries for Toyota Prius's - they all contribute infinitely more to environmental issues than a few dozen new Aston Martins.
So now let's consider the "Financial climate". Do you mean the financial climate where growing economies such as China and India are massive buyers of luxury goods? Do you mean the financial climate where Jaguar and Bentley have both had RECORD sales in 2011 / 2012 and are making cars with their factories at full capacity, providing stable incomes for tens of thousands of UK families?
Is that what you mean?
Either your thinking is muddled, you are a bit dim and don't read or learn much, or you are just messing with us.
