As others have said, one of very few 'ring videos I've watched all the way through.

So, so impressed, not only with the drive but sums up what true petrol head is!

Really great video - do agree it sums up the PH spirit and he should be interviewed!

He is bonkers though I have only done a few laps and remember thinking a lid and maybe rollcage were essentials...

This guy is a legend!! Remember Sabine Schmidt trying and failing to get a transit below 10 mins on the top gear and that was probably a quicker vehicle than this. Clarkson only managed a 9:59 in a 2.7D Jag S Type!

It's a Citroen AX. If you want oversteer all you have to do is turn the wheel a bit and think about lifting off. It knows.
Brilliant post, I genuinely laughed reading it, cheers.
Same hehe
As a previous AX owner; I was nodding to this post.

Hats off to the driver, evening of Forza and closest spec car I can find to follow....

Let's not get carried away. Sabine has won the Nürburgring 24 hours several times.

Superb stuff!

My first experience of pedal-to-the-metal, pants-on-fire driving was as a passenger in an AX GT driven by a friend of my parents.

Great memories

Dear PH,

Can you track this guy down and do a proper article on him? He sums up the PH spirit. May have to dust off your GCSE French, but I think it will be worth it. This guy is special.
+1

As others have said, that is one of the very few occasions that I've watched a ring video the whole way through, and worth every second biggrin

One of the only threads on Pistonheads I have read in recent times that does not contain some smartass saying they could do it better, my dad's better than yours type of comments...how refreshing.

Respect. I was a good 30 seconds slower on my first visit to the 'ring in my standard Peugeot 205 GTi 1.6 last year.

Incredible - just goes to show you dont need exotic metal to be a car nut and this guy is probably having more fun wringing every last bit of performance from his car, totally on the edge of what it can do clap

Love his reaction when he crosses the line - living the dream smile

I had a AX GT5, bought it 10 years old and 93000miles on the clock - amazing fun when it ran but slowly fell apart around me! Worst car i ever bought, but miss it!

Happy days smile
