it was whilst walking through a sea of ferraris at silverstone on saturday, and now seeing the picture of the Dino on the first page of this thread outside the shop that i realised they have grown from gorgeous small discreet sportscars like the 166, the dino and the 250 GT (ok, neither particularly small or discreet!) to the horrors that we now see.
the 430 is massive, absolutely huge, for a two seater car its simply enormous, and pug ugly to boot, all plastic looking and no style, same for the 360 and the Enzo, huge ugly cars that shout "LOOK AT ME" rather than the understated curves of the Dino. the last nice looking ferrari was the 355 GTB.

Gooood evening, got a few cars today. Unfortunately the one I was going to take a pic of has now moved! Every time I've been in the garage it's been there, then today I went down to actually take the picture and it's gone! Typical.
Anyway here we have:
DB9 in some weird lilac kind of colour.
The worst picture of a Granturismo you'll ever see.
This one's odd... I originally thought this was an M5... It has the wheels, and even the side vents... But then I realised it doesn't have the mirrors. Didn't get a chance to check if it was real or not...
This is a Range Rover Sport HST - much rarer than the standard SCed version. Main differences are the rectangular tailpipes and bodykit (as well as HST badges).

Hi Sharief,
Like the spot on the HST! Sorry, is this Dubai?
About a year ago I saw this automotive 'Loch Ness Monster' of cars.....A CLS with what looked like a convertible roof. The 'gangstaaaaa' driving it was really leaning over the steering wheel as he negotiated traffic where Regent's Park segues into Camden. I thought to myself, "Nah, no-one would do that. There's no such thing....". I rubbed my eyes and it had gone.
Then I was tootling through Marylebone and out of the corner of my eye saw the car again with a chap with a bucket and sponge giving it a clean. Then I was through the lights.........whoosh.
So the other day my friend is looking at the CLS on the Motor Show Mercedes stand, and I'm sitting in the back of it, and the lady is showing my friend all the nice bits up front. Then I say, 'I've seen this one that looks like a convertible....'
"I don't think so....sir"
'Er yes, I have...'
"Yeah....right"
The Loch Ness Monster of cars.
I know others have seen this on the web, but I had to verify it....Once again, in my eyes....a sin.
i thouhght that was the one that they just had a normal roof and covered it in some kind of material (not sure what), not sure why either as itlooks ugly as hell but wach to there own i guessLike the spot on the HST! Sorry, is this Dubai?

As for the CGT mentioned above - genuinely they are as common as Carreras in Central London. Like I say earlier in the thread - I easily see 20 a day...Yes, I think they are lovely cars, but not exclusive anymore. Now one that's been Mansoried...............
CGT common?! Christ, maybe I should move :|tigerkoi said:
I didn't mean it like that! Forgive me....
Look I think they are great, and I would glady have one. No doubt. Just that it's almost very suprising how relatively visible they are in town. Old SL's are dying out. CGT and the convertibles make daily runs bringing old boys to their City desks, nicely kept wifeys off to Waitrose.....
I see what you mean, it's amazing the sheer amount of them around the City....However, the sight of an old SL is quite a rarity nowadays, definitely worth savouring every second as it trundles by Look I think they are great, and I would glady have one. mmmm Waitrose wifeys!

It's not just in London that people buy cars that never get used. The designer of the Driver series of games lives in Newcastle, and he has a F360 that is covered in dust and has hardly any miles on it.
And the North East has its fair share of rarities flying around, I need to start taking my camera out more lol. Hell we must have a Bentley garage around here for some reason, never thought we'd have that many high rollers in the area!

1 red Ferrari F360
1 silver Porsche 911 C4S
1 silver Audi RS6 (non-avant)
1 blue TVR Tuscan
1 British Racing Green Westfield
a boxster, s2000 and a very nice fireblade parked in it on a very regular basis
nice pics
has the metallic Lambo with lime green SV decals been seen recently circling Harrods?

The guy who owned this - swear to God - drove round the block that we saw him do Hans crescent four times. This was after the picture was taken. So they like driving round the block.
that's all they do - have gone to knightbridge for a meeting, seen a few cars whilst I walk down the crescent and will see the same cars two hours laterhas the metallic Lambo with lime green SV decals been seen recently circling Harrods?
Wow, some great pics there, thanks It never ceases to amaze me what people will do to already stunning cars, some to make them look better, some to ruin them, it's all down to personal taste!
One thing that puzzles me though - with the recent story of the murci on dubai(?) plates, and all the other cars in london on UAE plates (as most of the exotica on show above have), are these cars flown over once registered in their native countries or bought over here but registered in their own countries and just the plates come over?

they summer over here so have the cars flown over and take them back home afterIt does almost seem like mini Dubai, rather surreal :| Out of curiosity tigerkoi, have you managed to grab any owners of such exotica yet for a chat or has it been snapping away @ 20 paces while the owners stare @ some random bloke taking pictures of there car in the middle of the road
