What a really nice looking, tidy little car. Shame Audi's are usually driven by ccensoredks.
I see a stupid post, look at the join date and just sigh shaking my head... always the new ones.
Do you not see the massive irony in tarring all new posters with the same brush while quoting someone saying that all audi owners are s?
Haha, brilliant smile
Hmmm. I was going to reply to say that Audi's are over priced and over rated, but I still found myself buying one last year because they are great cars. Instead, I find myself wanting to comment on some stupid w@nker who has nothing more to add than a demonstration of stupidity. This used to be a great car web site.
To be fair, I do find that I get tailgated, cut up, etc. more by Audi drivers than any other. These days the brand does seem to attract the over assertive/aggressive who think they are "flash" and something a bit special, the previously much maligned broken indicator BMW drivers of old.

This is an opinion arrived at through driving, not via Top Gear, sorry if it puts anyone out, all the best.

So in conclusion, if the RS3 was 10-12k cheaper it would be a much better proposition?
Yes, the problem is it's a £35k car dressed up\badge engineered whatever you want to call it as a £45k car. If they had done something a bit clever or special with any of the drivetrain i.e. the bits that matter then it might not seem like such a rip off but as it is, it's a very expensive tarted up A3. The only thing that excites me about this RS is the 5 pot engine but just that in itself isn't really enough for a car carrying the RS badge IMO.

That's exactly my point of view too. It's a shame as this sort of image is unavoidable as their models get more popular...and by popular i mean there are 5 Audis sitting outside my office...the nearest Audi dealer is about 40 miles away too!

I agree, but it seems there are some trolls on this site that just visit to insult people to make themselves feel better. Ah well, what ever makes them happy i guess smile

Could it not just be the fact that you have it in your sub-conciousness and thus notice the Audi "cock" drivers more?
It's like when you buy a car suddenly you notice more around..your sub-concious at work.

Sorry for having an opinion. I forgot they're not allowed.
We've moved on from the opinion, we can see your opinions if like this are best ignored as they are childish and the debate's not even how big of a tool you are for that is obvious. The decision is how the hell do we add you to our ignore list when there isn't one. YOU are the reason, YOU and all the other idiots who post stupid, ill informed and silly posts on this forum, YOU are the reason so many people don't post here anymore. I bet your mum is proud she bought up someone who is able to sprout their opinions freely......just a shame you wasted the opportunity and let her down with such a clear demonstration of a cretin in action.
WOW! You came on just to post that pathetic rant of bile & hatred. You must think you're superior, but that comment has made you look rather sad. Being a member of a forum longer than another person, or making more posts, does NOT make your opinion better than theirs. In your own words "I bet your mum is proud she bought up someone who is able to sprout their opinions freely......just a shame you wasted the opportunity and let her down with such a clear demonstration of a cretin in action." Thanks for playing & goodnight.

Or could it be the huge numbers of Audis that are actually on the motorways? I think it may well be. At the moment they sell very well, previous to Audi being the car choice of workers that travel many miles for work & business, in the past both BMW & Ford Mondeo drivers have had a similar reputation.

In summary, grown men love to argue over absolute irrelevancies and the RS3 would be the best car in the world if it cost a penny shy of a tenner.

Granted, but I am talking about outright performance not the obvious benefit of 4WD in icy conditions. In the majority of driving conditions a well balanced RWD car will probably be faster and a lot more fun (and some FWD cars like the Focus RS and others can be fast and a total riot to drive)

And with this Audi, there are far cheaper 4WD cars out there, also with its ultra low profile tryes it would probably not be great in the snow anyway..

When did I tarr all new posters with the same brush? I said 9 times out of 10 when there is a stupid post it is a new member, I did not say all new members make stupid posts; there is a difference.

BUT i do think this particular Audi is an oddity. Why would someone want or need such a powerful hatchback? And if they did why have something that looks so humdrum?
This may be an age thing - I (37yr old) can definitely see the appeal of a fairly normal looking pseudo-estate car that goes like stink.

Which is why I bought a bright green Focus RS.

It isnt expensive when you think an Escort Cosworth cost 30k ish 15 years ago or Celica GT4 0ver 30k with only 240BHP and less quality and durability than this RS3.

Good all round package IMO.

It's only 4-5k more than the RS500 cost, I have seen one of those on the road, I would pay the extra for the Audi for sure!

Those red and black wheels are on the options list for about £175. They are grey and silver as standard and they are a very nice design IMO.

An escort Cosworth had 220 when a decent hot hatch had 150

Not sure what the price of a 5 year old RS4 has to do with anything, but if you say so.
I was just pointing out what else you can get for similar money. I just grabbed the first couple that came up!
I'm sure you could get a one or two year old one for maybe £5k more. All I was pointing out is that £40k is a lot of money for a car when you look at what else is available for around £40k.

Some people will always only buy new cars and if you look at it like that then it’s maybe not “that” expensive. However, if you look at other cars available, that are only a couple years old, then in my opinion the RS3 is expensive.
