What a really nice looking, tidy little car. Shame Audi's are usually driven by cks.
I see a stupid post, look at the join date and just sigh shaking my head... always the new ones. This is an opinion arrived at through driving, not via Top Gear, sorry if it puts anyone out, all the best.

So in conclusion, if the RS3 was 10-12k cheaper it would be a much better proposition?
Yes, the problem is it's a £35k car dressed up\badge engineered whatever you want to call it as a £45k car. If they had done something a bit clever or special with any of the drivetrain i.e. the bits that matter then it might not seem like such a rip off but as it is, it's a very expensive tarted up A3. The only thing that excites me about this RS is the 5 pot engine but just that in itself isn't really enough for a car carrying the RS badge IMO.XJ40 said:

It's like when you buy a car suddenly you notice more around..your sub-concious at work.

those who moan about 4wd etc etc, come on where can you use the grip or power?
I refer you to late November through to early January....I was completely mobile when my FWD hot hatch owning friends were unable to get out their driveways.
And with this Audi, there are far cheaper 4WD cars out there, also with its ultra low profile tryes it would probably not be great in the snow anyway..

Do you not see the massive irony in tarring all new posters with the same brush while quoting someone saying that all audi owners are s?
When did I tarr all new posters with the same brush? I said 9 times out of 10 when there is a stupid post it is a new member, I did not say all new members make stupid posts; there is a difference.anything fast said:
BUT i do think this particular Audi is an oddity. Why would someone want or need such a powerful hatchback? And if they did why have something that looks so humdrum?
This may be an age thing - I (37yr old) can definitely see the appeal of a fairly normal looking pseudo-estate car that goes like stink.Which is why I bought a bright green Focus RS.

Not sure what the price of a 5 year old RS4 has to do with anything, but if you say so.
I was just pointing out what else you can get for similar money. I just grabbed the first couple that came up! I'm sure you could get a one or two year old one for maybe £5k more. All I was pointing out is that £40k is a lot of money for a car when you look at what else is available for around £40k.
Some people will always only buy new cars and if you look at it like that then it’s maybe not “that” expensive. However, if you look at other cars available, that are only a couple years old, then in my opinion the RS3 is expensive.
