Parked in front of a bloke sat in what I thought was a 63 plate XFR, as I'd noticed the 'R' badge on the black front grille. Anyways, as I walked past, It dawned on me that it didn't have the bonnet vents embossed with the 'supercharged' moniker, and at the back, it had a single exhaust, but above it, again the 'R' badge. So a 2.2 diesel I think.

I was in the wife's 5.0 XF, no wonder he looked a little sheepish. wink

I doubt he looked 'sheepish' at all, if it was a 63 plate it's probably an XF R-Sport, which is available with a 2.2 Diesel. Yours from £33k on the road.

I do wonder when everyone is going to get over the fact that M badges, R badges, AMG badges and S badges now come stuck all over 4 pot diesels from the factory and stop berating the owners for it? hehe

My grandad once bought a 325 td that had been badged as a 325 tds. The same of it.

On the subject of bizarre misbadgings, I once saw an E34 525 td/s (one of the two, I could tell by the sound) badged as a 520d...

I've checked out the 'R-sport' and it's not what I saw. They don't have the 'R' badge front or back, and don't come with 20" alloys.

Sorry should have put "the shame of it". Yeah the TDS was intercooled and 143 bhp, and the TD was non intercooled and 115 bhp. Just seems pointless someone "up badging" like that.

Silver Ford Mondeo Titanium X with the badge spaced to read TITAN I UM X - it had 2 further X's added after the first X I'm guessing to reflect some kisses laugh

No pics sadly as I was driving.

Didn't this and the DB7 come off the same production line?

It's also got the Jaguar head logo on the wheel centres in some of the pictures, so not all Jaguar badging has been swapped.

The DB7 was built at a facility in Bloxham (where they assembled the XJ220), the XK8 was built at Browns Lane IIRC. They were both very loosely based on the XJS.

I don't think this is a V10, or has a 335d engine in it.
