Hi Tim YHM, check my profile for the Landy stuff
OMG!
Maserati 300S (3:03) of Von Schenk / Fisken. With a 260 brake 3 litre straight 6 and bearly 800 kgs this is a fast one. Drumbrakes all round and top close to 300 kmh, but then those were the days.
Forget Aston this is the one. In the mid 50s some of the sport's finest drivers drove for Maserati in 1956, including Stirling Moss, Jean Behra and Carroll Shelby. The 300S' first major victory was scored in the Nurburgring 1000 km race, with Moss, Behra, Schell and Taruffi at the wheel of the winning 300S. More victories followed that year and Maserati finished a commendable second in the World Championship behind the almost unbeatable Ferrari team. Juan Manuel Fangio took another major victory in 1957, but by that time development of the 300S was halted in favour of the even larger engined 450S. Ironically in 1958 a 3-litre displacement limit was imposed, leaving the 450S obsolete, after which Maserati withdrew from sportscar racing. Today many of the 28 300S Maseratis constructed are still being raced in historic events (from www.ultimatecarpage.com)
No Sparco's here! I fell in love and completely forgot the 70s F1 circus I just left behind.
Class Chevron B19: Schlessingers fast lap 2:44.
I think this one had a 2.0 Litre Cosworth BDG in. Fav slotracer!
An E can't get any better than this.
John Delane's '72 Tyrell 006 (2:33). Jackie Stewart won in this one. Guess what: 460 brake DFV in.
You gotta love 'em. The most succesfull motorsports engine.
Slightly bigger big block in a Vette. At the end of the day I couldn't take any sharp pics. Flash helps out with the engine bay. Bugger I fecked up the Vette.
THAT P6:
Nuff of inspiration for a perfect Q-car.
R&R!
I wouldn't say it's beautifull . . . Impressive effort to take the ole Rover back to the track though.
First get me a beer and then sort out the last of sunday's stuff.

Because it's a tad heavier Phil? Or shortshifting maybe
Mallock U2 Mk3: now THAT looks like a lot of fun. What's up front there: Ford 1.6? Nice front engined thingies with the Webers inviting.
Gemini Mk2 1100 Ford.
Lola Mk2 'Mini Vanwall'.
The 997cc Ford 105E engine came with either two SU or Weber carburettors, the gearbox was a modified 4-speed BMC A series. Lockheed drum brakes were fitted all round as were magnesium bolt-on wheels.
The Mk2 had a reputation for good handling but suffered engine and transmission reliability problems. Highlight of the 1960 season was a 1-2 at the Nurburgring for Dennis Taylor and John Love (from www.lolahertage.com, visit the scrapbook and find my Lola snaps there as well).
Guess the car:
Wim and those who sniffed at the entry-lists are excluded
I didn't believe my eyes when I snapped this oddball at La Source.
Next: Germany!

Dink, many thanks for the mail and link.
Here's the opening lap of Barry's race from my car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3rwCGYSsuI

Cheers Tim.
Wim's pics of Phil's 6 litre, in front of Gracee's Streamliner.
Lots of strollers snapped the purple beast.
David wants the spokewheels off.
When there's a TZ there's Dink.
And when there's an engine bare naked there's Dink.
Absolutely loving that: clocks in the door. I miss my T70 pics! I want to effing browse 'em!
Anyways, there seems to be a postman strike and I've about 50 'Ring pics to share. That's 3 days posting here!

Actually, I think Heidi took the pics of the Diablo.Wim's pics of Phil's 6 litre, in front of Gracee's Streamliner.

Phil, pointing at (I think) a DB4: "That's a nice one too"
me: "Oh, I thought you were pointing at my wife"
Phil: "Yeah, she's not too bad"
Thanks Phil!

Adrian Halls Lotus X . . .
After the SpaF races we headed for the Dorint to team up for convoy. On our way to the 'Ring we had a little incident. TC's Cerb suddenly died and a few mins later about 10 exotics were parked on the soft shoulder. While it got dark we (well, almost everyone) changed batteries from Graham and TC's cars. Pushing Grahams car downhill to fire up and off we went heading for the most famous track in the world. But first - after a nice hoon - we needed the most famous steak in the world: the Pistenklaus special . . . meat on a hot stone that is. With beers like water and a plate without veggies (feck me!) all ended in a very enjoyable evening. And what else could it be, with PH anchorman Vixpy on the wine (huge bell), Nigel trying to follow, MrCerbera making fun of everything and AngryS3 saying 'I want a Cerbera' in every sentence I guess we were in good company. Oh, and Sinc sitting in front of me: I finally understand what your business is
Next morning I had my usual bulk brekkie with a quintet of coffees to go. Amazing to see Fubs and Nicky having UK-breakfast. Not for me. I talked Phil out of the Albanian washing-posse (cars need to be dirty), but he was the last one to join so I guess he asked the Albanians (girls then probably) for other favours.
Anyways, can we see some pics now?
Nicky didn't want Phil to leave for the 'Ring before her.
Nice VXR.
The Office.
Again a favourite snapping moment for everyone passing by. Yup, it's dirty allright. Nice.
I love it when a car looks 'off', different panels and all. Nigel, Sinc and Paul don't seem to believe a word . . .
Uncle Bulgaria's - not really used to shaking hands - Griff had an alternator problem. Good wheels.
Goon's luverly Tusc. Not so good wheels.
Two TVR's ready for the 'Ring.
Nowt wong with a Cerbera. But one thing: they'd best not stop production. What a car.
Nicky's mean sounding R8. Perfect wheels.
Looking at an Aston: it just lacks the sex!
Mean trackday monster Skyline.
I lurve blue when it's a Z.
Another Spa 6 Hours visitor with a good idea. There was a 500 brake Tiger around. Anyone saw it?
A Bertone in exactly the right colour.
Quite a few 7's around.

The Spyders may not be that good, but I think they are much better looking than the Halfords wheels of the Griffith.Goon's luverly Tusc. Not so good wheels.
(didn't Phil warn you NOT too abbreviate car names? )
